Lime green?

They are in an old wooden record player stereo that's been gutted, the lid is on a hinge. They are 24 hours light. There is a passive I take and 12v outtake fan installed always running. They were fine til I added more light. Now until I adjust ventilation I've just left the lid cracked a bit.

Sounds like you have ventilation under control. Something else worth pointing out, looks like you have aluminum foil lining the interior of your grow area? Foil is notorious for causing hotspots and the folds and crinkles tend to send lights off in all directions.

IMO, your plants don't look terribly bad. The one shot of the bottom of the leaf is a bit concerning. I think you only mentioned "compost" when referring to your soil. Any other details regarding the soil? These plants appear to be loading up on N but based on your comments it doesn't sound like your over feeding. If it were me I would back down on all nutes and let them fetch theirs goodies from the soil for a bit and see where that takes you. Looking forward to this mornings update!!

This is the first time I've given them any nutes and it was only 1/4 of the rec dose. I'm thinking I may need to move them to a taller dresser or something. If I do I'll be painting it flat white. My ph was very high at one point, I think phosphorus got locked out. Distilled water at a good ph with nutes should perk em up. They all look good this morning.

Check out the ladies! My two best growing, lime green and the darker one with the fat leaves seem to be doing much better. New growth on the lime green is a more "normal" color, and the darker leaved one has new growth that is also more "normal" and not so deep of a green. All others I've noticed growth that looks good since last night. Does every other watering seem good for nutes? Should I stay at the 1/4 dose or move up?

I'm loving how short they are. The node distance is so minimal. I'm chalking it up to the distance of the lights, but genetics may play a part. I'll never know, but I'm not complaining! I plan on doing lst (bending) but I also may FIM the top. When should I start training these ladies?

IMO, you can top them now. I would start LSTing the new growth after the FIM. Check out main-lining for excellent tips on how, when and where. Also, I would stay on 1/4 strength tor maybe one more watering, then bump to half and go from there....I'm still wondering about your soil, plants seems to show lots of N. I have a couple dozens grows under my belt and am by no means the master/expert so take this for what's its worth...$.02. Maybe someone else can chime in?

My organic compost probably had high nitrogen as it was a lot of grass clippings and veg, greens from my friends garden (carrot tops, beet greens, cauliflower greens etc) I'm not noticing any "clawing" or tox signs so I'm not overly worried about that right now. So 1/4 nutes, next watering or the one after? Every other water a good schedule? I saw some recommendations on just doing lst but I thought if I FIMmed and then did lst on the tops it would give me more to work with initially. I appreciate your input!

Ah, ok. So with the added info on your soil, IMO I would keep the nutes at 1/4 strength for you next several watering's until you see some signs of deficiency. I suspect your soil has everything it needs for a few weeks. Kinda gotta play that by ear (or sight as the case may be).

I always FIM my stuff unless its a clone. I guess its just a personal preference as I like having lots of tops to work with. What is the space like where these will ultimately end up? Got plenty of head room? Also, since you have these in an old record player....are you at least playing some Dr. Hook (sharing the night together) for them? My girls LOVE Dr. Hook!!! (:

I'm a huge dr hook fan, actually. My mom loved them. It's a half decent sized box but I think I'm going to move them to a taller dresser. I plan to keep them super low. No more than two feet total. But where they are isn't giving me as much vertical space as I'd initially thought. Pretty sure I didn't take the pot height into account.. Stoner moment.
