Locking down the og!

Chimeras states for a proper back cross...

P1 x P1 =F1
F1 x F1 = F2
F2 x P1 = Bx1

Bx1 x Bx1 = Bx1F1
Bx1F1 x BxF1 = BxF2

BxF2 x P1 = Bx2
Bx2 x Bx2 = Bx2F1
Bx2F1 x Bx2F1 = Bx2F2

Bx2F2 x P1 = Bx3

Should be a cool project....

So the OP has the face-off #4 cut that thadocta has??
Good info. Thank you.

Yes I have the face off cut for quite several years, before archive was a seed bank, before rare dankness ever existed.

2 ideas id love to voice.

1 being that running a nice pile of s-1's is a very very good idea. say you ran 99 of them and got back 99 different plants..... well now you got a problem and the whole idea of "locking down" anything but headaches is pretty remote. if you get back a big batch of the same with 50% or more leaning OG and having alot of the same traits then get boogying down on BXing real quick. I'm sure you knew all this already but i just felt like voicing it for the ones following along who dont.

another side perk of the big S1 batch is you never know you could land a seriously nice cut on its own. S1's have the potential to be better then your wildest dreams could ever imagine, they also have the potential to be soooooooo amazing but still herm if you sneeze on them(my current darth maul cut) and its absolutely heart breaking so this is the downside to "chasing jason" so to say

2 find a strain that is going to bring vigor and yield like a landrace of some sorts or whatever and try to dial in the OG that way. spend a few generations wallowing in new phenos trying to lock down the ones that were like the face off and just keep breeding them together.

REMEMBER. fem beans aren't the devil. maybe bring a kosher kush winner fem to the face off fem and see wutcha get? never know til ya test tho. thats the devil in the seed game!
Solid advise no doubt. Thanks for stopping bye bro.

ThaDocta=Archive?

Archive have Face-Off Bx2 already.
I know he does. I stated that in my first post. I have heard great results. I would love to try a pack but they are always sold out and Im not ordering from overseas venders again.

This will entertain me for quite some time and hopefully I can get a nice little supply of seed stock. Maybe introduce another og in the mix and see where it goes.

Im not trying to copy the docs work, but I am seeing great results with the face-off passing down fire offspring. Just doing it my own way.

The things I dislike most about the cut is its terribly hard to clone and doesn't have the best structure. The more you top, the smaller the sites get, hates lst, If your grow it too big she cant support a single branch.

If I could improve one of the above, I will be happy.

for what its worth i got a feeling a pile of s1's would be pretty homogeneous. the list of parentage are all pretty close to begin with. GL with this, the ole saying goes if ya want it done right do it yourself right? gonna have to keep me updated on these

Right on.

Now I'm off to research the fun topic of selling.

See I feel the opposite. I have found most plants I consider to be outstanding smoke to be finicky and have the potential to hermie. Sure it would be better if they were more stable but I am looking for the best smoke possible and not an easy to grow plant that yields buckets of mediocre smoke.

I have a thing for og, chems, and sours. Which seem to be very hermie prone and harder to grow.
Here's some og crosses I made. No worked lines or anything, just some chucking for beans. I have a super stinky Rug Burn male that I used to pollinate a nasty og 18 from older stock and a sfv og clone. The 18 x rugburn phenos were all over the place (all really good though) but the sfv x rugburn all looked different but only had slight variations in flavor. These were my champs out of those runs. Plus I still have at least 100 beans of each.

18 x rug burn - Full Nelson

Sfv x rug burn - Snowplow og
