The Chevy Cruze is not popular in the US and it is not exportable as the S American market is already saturated with small Chevy cars: Spark, Sail, Beat, and Onix.
The base Cruze is more expensive than the Onix and isn't much better. For a few thousand more you can get a Chevy Tracker Crossover which is a more attractive option.
Capitalism folks... I don't believe that plant will sit idle for too long though.... US Car manufacturing is still a very viable and profitable option for a lot of companies that want to sell cars in the US...
