Look out superthrive - Organic Competition

Man, I’m confused. I thought BMO was fertilizer!! So obviously, I need a recommendation for that. Plus, I’m currently bidding on the “Super Plant Tonic” and was thinking of adding “Flower Power” to my order and just saw the bat guano fertilizer, so I guess that would do, right?
.
Cassyantell... The SPT is a super root inoculant, chocked full of myco fungi and good bacteria. You water the stuff into your medium and it does the rest. I have been using it for a while and will not grow without now. It's that good. Here is what it does:
.
The tiny myco fungi, tap into the roots of your plant, and send out hundreds of threads - to break down local NPK and feed it directly to the roots. This is NPK your roots would have a hard time getting themselves. The good bacteria that are packaged with the fungi - also breakdown NPK to more soluble forms. The myco fungi also excrete basically an natural antibotic - killing off bad bacteria & fungi.
.
Plus it has lots of trace minerals and some vitamins in it. So, that was why I orginally said " Look out Superthrive ". Superthrive has vitamins, minerals and a animal based hormone or two to stimulate growth. Animal hormones in my mix, are not OK with me.
.
A normal plant may have dozens of roots per square inch, with a couple dozen feeder roots. The SPT taps every one of those roots, big & small, so you end up with hundreds & hundreds of tiny fungal threads - directly feeding your roots. So, it's like a supercharger for your rootball, armed security and miners working 24/7 in the root zone.
.
The SPT does have NPK in it, but it's just there to feed the micro-beasties (good fungi & bacteria) until the product is used. The NPK would be too weak to carry Mary through any part of the grow. But once the SPT is in your medium, every last bit of NPK will be squeezed out of it. So, like their listing says " It's more than a fertilizer". Yes, it is - a root inoculant & plant tonic (all needed trace minerals) rolled into one. Real Good Stuff and well worth the price.
.
Hope this helps....clear things up.....
Keep it Real...Organic.....
.
P.S. - I have not used the Flower Power yet, but look in the Organic threads for a post by Greensurfer called Blue Mountain Organics Update - Catincombs has been using it & is getting some real good results.

Buenos Dias Ohsogreen!!

I will start a journal for the next grow using all BMO products this Fall. The current plan is to alternate usage between Grow It Green and Flower Power (depending on the growth stage)...and SPT... with FF Ocean soil. Probably 25-75% strength on nutes...100% recommended dose for SPT.

Foliar Harmony will be used once or twice a week...just before 'sunrise'.

The one non-BMO product will be Humboldt Honey...10 ml per gallon...during flowering and flushing. It is a carbo load.

Greensurfer... I look forward to your grow journal. Between the BMO stuff & that FoxFarm Soil - I bet it will be a nice one. FoxFarm really makes quality bagged soil & amendments - they have no competition in that market.
.
The Humbolt stuff is pretty hot right now. Talk about smart marketing, cashing in on that name was a real good move. When I lived in Southern Cali, everyone knew the best buds came from Humbolt County - but Man where they expensive - even back then (in the 80's).
.
When I hear the word Humbolt, I generally think of ole' Billy Bob Thorton in the Movie " Homegrown ". Man, I love that movie, makes me laugh everytime I watch it. Funny what the possibility of big money does to people.
.
I was chatting with Catincombs earlier, he lives in a county like the one in Homegrown. They used to have a Sheriff there named Ralph Baker, who took percentages from all the growers and looked the other way. They wrote a book about him after he died called " When Money Grew on Trees ". We have 75 counties here in Arkansas and only about 65 of them are corrupt. LOL....

One of my best friends from my days in Sonoma County has now moved to northern Humboldt and set-up shop. She says about everyone on her rural road has at least a tiny outdoor garden...and most have something indoors too. Most are Prop 215 folks with a bit to spare...however, she says their is alot of hydro and few organic growers in her circle. I haven't turned on to BMO yet.

And, I'll be on abebooks.com tomorrow searching for the book mentioned above. Catincombs filled me in a bit about trout fishing in your neck of the woods via PM. The White River has been on my list of rivers I need to see soon! He seems like a cool dude...

Fox Farm for years has treated my flowers, tomato, veggie and kitchen herb planter systems well...the indoor thing is new to me. As is BMO, I'm hoping my outdoor greenthumb stays with me indoors ;-) ...my fiance thinks I'm crazy, but she can't argue the benefits and I need to feed my gardening bug during the winter! We'll see how BMO works on some Jamaican pepper plants too...they'll add some color in the tent.

Greensurfer..... The White River is Incredible. I have fished it from Cotter to Calico Rock - the Rainbows will bend your rod every time. Plus, the whole area is just real laid back. The people are friendly and during the off season (after July) there are plenty of cheap rooms & rental gear - so you can pack lite.
.
Yeah...Catincombs is a good dude. He's living where I need to be. I've been chatting with him back & forth. He lives deep in the hills, where your nearest neighbor is only a few miles away.

Super Plant Tonic is some really good shit. I've seen a huge difference in my rootballs since adding it 8 days ago. So, I don't know how it compares to Superthrive head to head, but I'm impressed anyway. My plants also have really perked up and are growing faster than before. I'm going to keep using it, because it's working.

This is a good thread, so thanks for that. But most of it is about organic teas with beneficial fungi, and humics and so on. I don't see what this has to do with SuperThrive. It is an elixir of vitamins and hormones, and if you are saying that you no longer need it because of the teas, well, I'd still use it with everything because it's cheap and easy.

HTH
Well, the thread title being "Look out Superthrive" might imply that the BMO Super Plant Tonic (and their other products) would be a replacement for something like Superthrive. Wouldn't it? In other words, the man's trying to say that you don't need Superthrive if you're using organic products properly. And.. so far, my grow's proving him right. :D

I don't know, I think they have some competition with the Gardner & Bloome. :) I don't know how widespread Gardner & Bloome distribution is, they're a local Cali company.

I know this isn’t where I should ask this, but I’m in dire in need of help and no time to search. A family emergency requires us to be away for 3days, so the following is even more critical—
Went downstairs this am and the 4 week old babies were droopy/wilted. Husband sprayed and added water to bottom of tray and some seem to be responding. We started 12 clones in RW, over watered for about 3 weeks, lost several, but those that made it had tons of leaves and roots.

Last w/e I persuaded him to cut back on the water and on Sunday he repotted them into plastic containers w/lot of holes; put a RW cube that weighed 28 grams in each one, surrounded the plant w/ a combo of verm’lt & perlite. Tuesday afternoon the cups felt relatively heavy, but there was no water in the tray. And this morning they were completely dry.

Hey OhSo, just thought I'd let you know that Bill & Traci showed incredible customer service and were very pleased with your lobbying for them so heartily from atop your soapbox in the Organic threads. And, may I add, they were quick to assist in rectifying another of my near legendary mental lapses! ;-) Girls received their first bath in a well aerated 40% solution of "SPT"... We'll let you know how they respond. Thanks for sharing the find. bongsmilie

Thanks for the link ohso my sis is coming up from texas where im from, and she wants to see the great Arkansas outdoors but im trying to find a spot where we can camp, fish, and see some caves( I would rather float the buffalo and camp on it but to low). O, wait its been raining like cats and dogs the past day so maybe it will rise anough! Its her birthday so im really trying to find a good spot. I read some info about Devils Den saw some cabins and a lake with some caves, but how is the trout hitting now? I know the bass have been hit or miss so i was thinking maybe if there is a spot on the white that you would recommend? My sis loves Eureka, so id rather be close to ES then have to camp and then drive all that way from then Den.

I miss Frances. She moved to Cherokee Village with her mom and stepdad last June, and I do so miss that girl. Closest thing to a daughter I will ever have. (sigh)

Dear Mr. S******:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the decriminalization of marijuana. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts on this issue.

I agree with you that we should examine the costs associated with the criminalization of controlled substances, as well as the costs associated with the use and abuse of such substances. While I believe that our laws regarding drug trafficking should be subject to regular review to ensure that they comport with our nation's priorities, I also believe that public safety should continue to be our chief concern.

The prohibition of marijuana began with the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 and was further enforced by the Controlled Substances Act passed in 1970. In the more than three decades since its enactment, drugs have become stronger and potentially more dangerous.

On April 17, 2008, Rep. Barney Frank introduced H.R. 5843, the Act to Remove Federal Penalties for the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults. If enacted, H.R. 5843 would remove federal penalties for the possession of marijuana for personal use. H.R. 5843 is currently pending consideration by the House Committees on Judiciary and Energy and Commerce.

You may also be interested to know that Rep. Frank introduced another bill, H.R. 5842, the Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act, that would allow states to decide whether individuals may use marijuana for medicinal purposes. This bill is pending consideration before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Should either of these bills come to the House floor for a vote, please be assured that I will keep your concerns in mind.

Once again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. If you have any other questions or concerns on this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.

If you would like to receive email updates about how I am working on behalf of Arizona's 5th Congressional District, I invite you to sign up for my newsletter at Congressman Harry Mitchell.
Sincerely,

Why the House Energy and Commerce Committee? What would that group know about medical mj?

i just picked up all of the BMO products (ie the bloom, grow, foliar, and tonic). Can someone please answer my previous question about mixing with liquid karma? i also have some fox farm nutes as well, i think what im going to do is use LK and the tonic througout the grow (mixed) and im going to mix equall amounts of the fox farm and organic stuff aswell. unless anyone thinks this is a perticularly bad idea???

Ohso isn't always on the board, Bagel (hey! who took my bagel?), and I'm not familiar with LK. However, I'll reiterate what he says, which is start low and go slow (mix weaker solutions), and be sure to allow those mycorrhizea, et alia, to get themselves settled in and working on those nutrients before you hit too hard. I'm paraphrasing, he says it better than I, but I wanted to respond so you didn't think you were being blown off.
