You dont have to. That was my thinking a few weeks ago. But i gave a shot of smoking just at weekends, yeh the 1st week is shit, but after that its easy. Its all about self control, its because its habbit, Its all in your mind, just fight it :)

And thats after smoking weed everyday for a few weeks, being high all day basically. You feel alot better for it ;) Just find something to tire you out or find something else to occupy your time!
this is so true. alot of it is your mind telling you it wants to be high. I personally am weak-willed when it comes to pot. I guess if I wanted to I could not smoke everyday, buuut fuck that lol. I just got out of a final exam, time to spark up

I think I'm a bit heavier into it than you are.... its not gonna be even close to easy.

I'm gonna try weaning myself off. but I'm not doing cold-turkey, putting myself through hell for a few days when I have enough to slowly cut myself down.

and to the person above, this is not just my mind telling me I need to be high, I've definitely worked myself into a physical dependancy. I feel wide awake when I try to go to sleep without it, that is NOT only in my head.

I just find it kinda annoying how you all look at it like quitting coffee, this is a bit deeper than that...

I went to bed last night without smoking weed and I woke up shivering with most of the blankets on the floor and the bed a foot away from the wall and to the left of where it had been. :-?
what the fuck did you do last night. do you turn into the wolfman if you don't smoke before bed =P?

oh man, that sucks. I can't really sleep well anyway, only when i'm coming down from some really sedative pot. Every person is different though. Good luck man, wish you the best.

I have definitely worked myself into a chemical dependancy with pot. If I go the day without it, I can't sleep that night, and if I go more than 24 hours without it, I start having messed up dreams. The kind that would make Stephen King go "what the hell is wrong with you man? That's some messed up shit."

yeah I quit a while back and man the dreams were SO vivid.

I have to say that was actually a pro, rahter than a con.

how about this- get some exercise...and when the sun goes down, start preparing for sleep...your body responds to light by shutting off melatonin production...so stop staring at your laptop computer before trying to sleep

this is actually really key. computers/video games are known to contribute to insomnia because oh how we're affected by light.

and this is just my theory but I guess it's easier to fall asleep to television because your brain goes into a hypnotic state after like a minute of tv, while with a computer/game it would be at least somewhat active

Well, due to some stupid life decisions, I put myself thru some things that kinda twisted my mind up a little I think.....cause these dreams are fuckin scary. Getting shot and having near death experiences in my dream....twisted.
I wake up sweating and one time I nearly accidentally choked my girlfriend to death. Her head was on my arm and I guess I started sleeper holding someone in my dream and the only way she could wake me was to punch me in and around the sack area few times. Fuckin scared the shit out of both of us.

yeah I'm definitely going the edible route, I've been doing it for 2 days straight now, its my 2nd time doing this so its nothing new.

trust me I'm well aware of this. I need to wean myself off of it slowly, the exercise thing wont really work too well in the beginning, it will help but it wont be the cure-all, I need to slowly get my body used to lower and lower amounts, until its over with.

damn, yeah if I had dreams like that I wouldn't want to dream either.

maybe one day you'll get over that stuff enough to be able to dream well again...

I was a avid smoker and i quit for a month to clean my system for a drug test. I would not sleep for the first week so i took some I stayed up all night and fell asleep the next day at 9 at night to get me sleeping habids back to falling asleep at 9 to 12. Also try running a couple miles befor bed tire yourself out also working out will clean your system faster!!! O ya if you watch tv at night watch the history channel or sompthing boring rofl puts me to sleep fast!!

Lol. These dreams get really strange. I think all the other drugs I did before may be a contributing factor as well. Too bad you can't capture your dreams, then sell that shit to Universal Studios or something.

i have always had a problem sleeping...staying up late....etc
I have trouble shutting off my thinking cap...i try to count sheep...in fact i was making a whole family of sheep with names and personalities.....but after a few I just think about something else that gets me all worked up....like all the things I have to get accomplished when i wake up...wondering if i'm meeting all my deadlines....did I forget to do anything important today? did I do everything correctly? like that....or....i'll remember something and get sad..happy...excited...new business ideas....etc...so I need to shut my head down...tv/movies let me escape reality...just the noise really...get caught up in the boring storyline for a while.....combined with a heavy indica...that'll do it...i had often resorted to alcohol in the past but weed is healthier...
i dont think anything is wrong with this...i just forget to smoke the indica at night sometimes...and end up starting this process way too late
