Low Budget Startup Grow

yea looks like it might be some deficency?, i would pd-down a couple gallons of water to 5.5-6 and give em a good flushing to make sure no salts are blocking the roots from getting everythignt hey need
thats a good idea...im going to check the ph of the runoff. I have never fed them since i transplanted to the large buckets. There was only a couple leaves like that...the edges crumbled to the touch. I was poking around at the soil and it is dry to about an inch and a half but the original root mass from before transplant may have been dryer than i thought at first...There getting watered in about 10 hours...I'll test the runoff. I have no idea if organic tea test the same as salt based fertilizers as far as the TDS meter is concerned...im going to research a bit more?

It's only a couple leaves but i want to head it off before it can get worse. Here are a couple of other pics...Let me know if you see any other clear signs of deficiencies...thanks

oh yea you make your own furt....im way lazy and just go with FoxFarm Organics they seem to know their shit...
I just like the idea of knowing exactly whats in each batch...Plus this is a start up grow with a very small budget. I need more lights to get to my max limit. It's lame that you can only have 3 plants. I plan on getting 4 to 6 600 watt lights like this one within a few harvests. You need to get your brother to the doc...So you can get a couple more plants. I want to try a few plants on FF and a couple on Advanced....all that will have to wait.

Dude for a pinched budget, ur doing brilliantly Bro! only recommendation other than the venting u need to do, is build some shelving and elevate that ballast up and away from ur grow. Still snown where im at right now too, least u dont need a/c like peoples in FL or NV CA...least not yet u dont . Looks great regardless. when i think low budget i think cfl's and cheezy work lights ya knwo

Thanks for the encouragement. It is low budget but I don't know anything about CFL's. I'm thinking of changing the 150 watt halide for a big cfl...it says it has the power a 300 watt halide.....The smaller metal halide seams more intense.

I need to raise the ballast...when i get more cash invested into my room and more lights im going to move the ballasts to the other side of the wall. The temps aren't a problem at the moment. They have a hanger on them...i could hang the ballast on the ceiling...I'll have to do that.

I don't mind the snow....This was some real wet snow....I got a big black rubbermaid trash can....Im gonna fill it with snow run off. Then stick a pump in it to pump the water into the flower room. There is a perfect gutter to divert to fill it perfectly into the trash can.

I don't need to spend money on that right now...If i can find an old pump i have around here...i'll build it soon because that is all i really need.

I wonder if i will need an air pump for it or if the water will stay usable? :joint:

It is feeling like things are going slow....

I wish i knew what strain this is? In about 3 crops i should have some known genetics. One of the strains is a fast easy grower. The other is an unknown that i didn't really like...it was throwing single weird shaped leaves. I hope i didn't make a mistake by not keeping a clone in veg.

I just fed the five mothers in the flower room 1 quart each of an organic tea mixture i bubbled followed by about 2 quarts of water.

Im going to give them a quart of this a week till week 6. At that point I don't know what i will do.

I would like to find a more complete recipe for an organic tea...I was going to add some rabbit turds into it but i got high and didn't get the cage cleaned out.

I'm just gonna wait and see if the plants like the feeding or not. Hopefully the one weirdo stops stretching.

I just started a batch of grow tea

I used 2 gallons water 7.1 PH
-2 teaspoons High P bat guano
-1 oz Molasses
-1 cup of worm castings
-1 ounce of SPT

I am going to feed tomorrow after it bubbles for a day. I hope the vegging plants love it as much as the flowering plants.

I was very happy with the tea I made the other day...the plants looked happy and that's the important part.

The seedlings are looking happy....I am going to clone them and put them into flower to determine sex in the next couple of weeks. :joint::hump:

I built a small worm home to collect fresh castings. I don't know much about worms? I don't eat many vegetables, I didn't have anything old they could eat in the fridge so I opened up a can of green beans to feed them. I hope they live?

I couldn't find any red wigglers...my town sucks for things like that. I found one guy...he sells them to the land fill....He just won't return my call....he must be busy? whatever.

So instead im using some giant red worms from a box of fishing worms. There are only 24 in there. I was going to wait and see if they work. How fast they eat the green beans before i add more.

I think i am going to take a shovel and go digging in or below the cow pies. $30 for a pound online I won't pay till i exhaust my other options.

Any worm experts....help appreciated

I don't know...I believe SOG knows what there doing just by looking at the room he has starting.

Just an observation...I don't think any of those seeds would roll very well...they don't look perfectly round. I would like to see more in this i subscribed to the thread.

I don't have many seeds and they were all bag seed. 1 from a bag of bubble gum, and 1 from a bag of snowcap, and all the rest are from the seed shown in the two red cups in the veg room. Out off all those seeds i don't believe any of them met the standard spoke off.

My seed genetics could be all bad still?

The tea i made for my plants was made from:

-2 gallons of water (08 ppm)
-2 tsp high (n) Bat Guano
- 1 oz molasses
-2 oz Super Plant Tonic
-1 Cup Worm Castings

note: The PH of the solution was adjusted to 6.5 and the PPM was at 136.

I fed till there was enough runoff to test:

CLONE 1 :
PH 7.38
PPM 457

CLONE 2 :
PH 420
PPM 6.90

CLONE 3 :
PH 394
PPM 7.12

CLONE 4 :
PH 374
PPM 7.14

CLONE 5 :
PH Forgot To Write Down
PPM Forgot To Write Down

CLONE 6 :

CLONE 7 :
PH 364
PPM 7.09

CLONE 8 :
PH 576
PPM 7.25

Seedling 1
PH 486
PPM 7.21

Seedling 2
PH 412
PPM 7.52

These are the numbers of the run-off from the veg room. I also did some FIM cuts.

Anyone feel free to comment on them?

There wasn't much to do for the plants today. I worked on the grow room a bit. I need to start saving for another 600 watt hps. I will have to order it online.

Today is day 19 of flowering in one room and day 20 in the veg room for the clones.

I don't know how but I had the wrong amount of guano on the recipe that i had.

The correct amount of guano to add was supposed to be 2-4 TABLESPOONS per gallon.

My next bloom feeding will be:
2 Gallons Rain Water
2 TBS Bat Guano (p)
8 TBS Worm Castings
1 TBS Molasses
1 TBS Super Plant Tonic

I'm Shooting For an NPK of about 2-8-3

My next Vegetation feeding will be:
2 Gallons Rain Water
2 TBS Bat Guano (n)
8 TBS Worm Castings
1 TBS Molasses
1 TBS Super Plant Tonic

I think my Veg NPK is about 11-4-5

Heres some Updates of the Fim Cut, seedlings, and the flower room. I gave the ladies a hair cut. Hope I don't shock them. I have a hard time stopping once i get cutting. I think its all good though.
