No Sir it's definitely done to BHO. And I've never heard of doing it to qwiso I think you have them reversed. I've done a lot of research on all of this and made a lot of extracts :).

Qwiso doesn't pull fats it pulls chlorophyll, BHO pulls fats but doesn't usually pull chlorophyll. It's based on one being a polar solvent and the other being non-polar. They each extract differently.

I guess if you wont check out videos of dispos doing it in lab settings I also wont check your link. Seems fair.
lol you didn't post a link to something specific, you made a general statement about watching you tube videos. I posted a link to a lab that does this every day, huge difference. Thanks for being rude though. I'm sorry if it hurts your ego, but you are wrong in this case. Here to make it easy now that I'm on my computer not my phone.

Winterizing:

When using non polar solvents like butane and hexane, some non-polar waxes, fats, and lipids are extracted as well. An easy way to get rid of them is to simply re-dissolve the non-polar extraction in 190 proof (~95.5% azeotropic) polar ethanol and stick it in the freezer for about 48 hours at -18C/0F, for the waxes to coagulate.

The waxes will precipitate out of solution as the temperature drops and clump together so that they are easily filtered out with a standard coffee filter, or a Whatman #1 lab filter.

Was it rude or just repeating what you said and you took it as rude when seeing it?
By your logic professional labs DONT make youtube videos when mentioned videos posted by labs <shrug>

Anyways I dont care. I make rosin and dry sift. Wish you all the best in continuing making what you enjoy.

I do feel it was different then what I said, as I pointed out before :). You made a general statement pointing blindly at youtube for answers, I directed you to correct information posted by a lab.

I was never trying to be a dick about anything, but I don't like seeing inaccurate info being spread. Hope you have a great night, and enjoy some yummy rosin for me, I really like cannabis in all its forms.

I dont like pressed lift as much as normal generally. When you press it then you have to break off pieces that burn strong but turn into little coals. Some people prefer it but not most I'd say
Yes, those little coals can get really harsh too I've found after a hit or two...

Winterizing is a process done to BHO to remove fats and lipids from the extraction. You basically do an alcohol wash on a BHO extract to clean it up.

To the best of my knowledge you don't winterize alcohol extracts though.

The keys to getting them clean and golden are
1.good material
2.having everything ice cold
3. Doing the washes fast so you don't extract chlorophyll.
4.dont use heat to evaporate

I do my whole wash/extraction process in about 5 minutes. Then filter and evap at room temp with a fan blowing air on the dish.
I literally could have googled that but am so lazy, ive heard it befoe and at one of the jobs ive worked previously although it was it the context of storage :-)
