my first time and what the hell
i am growing aurora i ica and super bud

i statred useing a 4 foot 6bulb t5 for abut the first week and a half
then went to a 600 watt mh for the remainding veg.. next 3 weeks

then i switched to a 600 watt hps for the next two weeks .

then i changed to a 1000watt hps for the remainder .

for veg i was useing miracle grow 24-8-16
iknow its strong but my plants flourished beautifuly
i flushed lightly since i made big holes in my pots and i have great drainage.
i then went to use dyna grow bloom after the first week of flowering 3-16-6. everything looked good except for the fact mybud development seemed very very slow. i did research to see what other peoples plant s looked like and i was very disapointed but kept telling my self wiat till week 6.
well week 6 came and still very little ,
so i flush agian and feed with a half does of some kool bloom from general hydro... 2-45-28 as well as gen hydro micro nuts 5-0-1

and once i did that about three days later damn near all the fan leaves dried up and died am im thinking , oh cool. now the light can really hit the plant and i thought things would change for the better yeild wise but i was wrong wrong wrong...

my grow tent is 4*4 and its pretty hot but not to hot to burn my plants or stress them out. i also have a inline fan and carbon filter running as exaust as long as the light s on with a i think 18 inch fan blowing 24 hours..please please explain to me why my 1000 watt super bud grow yeilded aboult 1 ounce per lplant . the same as the aurora indica ??? all plants were about three to 4 feet tall. no light leaks please help.. thanks

well your nutrional system was flawed or you got heat stress. it take practice man... took me years before i started seeing the results i really wanted. just try to learn more understand the phsics and chemistry going on inside on maintaining the perfect enviroment. it always better to start small and work your way up i would have just grew the plant under a 400w first go around and you probably would have got a better yield for the size and energy used. just keep it simple grab a simple set of name brand nutes and mix at 1/3 strenght throught the whole grow and dont flush this time around till you understand what flushing does and when and how to use it.
just my thoughts....

you sure no light leaks in your room?

not in my tent . couldnt be flowering took off .. the only thing that didnt was the bud production.. increadibly slow ..
my tent is in my room band the lights are always on but like i said inside my tent is dark . i even have panda film wrapped around it because i dont trust the zippers . if i can see light so can they ..

Did you do any topping or just one main cola. Do you have any pics? That would really help. By the way, how hot were your temps?

Try switching your 1000 watt lamp to the hortillux dual arch. It's a 600 hps and a 400 mh in one lamp, and has produced great results since I switched over a few years ago. They really cover the spectrum of the natural sun much better than anything else out there, they're expensive as hell, but so worth it.

I pull an extra lb off of 24 plants, in an ebb and grow.....I have 3 of them, and won't go back.

Absolutly. I do not belive in those digital ballasts, mine are all magnetic. Look them up and see the spectrum analysis. They're great. They fire under the HPS switch on your ballast, I don't belive they make one that is a conversion if you aren't running switchable.

Not sure of temps? So you don't have a thermometer? Problem #1, and a good indicator that you have overlooked other important aspects of growing.
Also could of been some crappy seeds. Just cause its called big, doesn't mean it just grows big no matter what.

thets funny cause i was gonna get one for my digital switchable 600 but the 1000 sounds alot better...

but i mean damn 1 ounce per. and its not eev dry yet thats just what i see on the plant maybe 1 o z once it dries and shrinks some

well how many plants are you running per light. figure out the Grams per watt. i averaged 1 gram per watt under 600's, but was running up to 9 medium sized plants per light.
yield still sticks around 1oz per plant, but thats with like 32 lumens per sq foot, and no co2.

upgrading to air cooled XXXL 1000's, dropping the grow space down in size, and adding co2.

ok wait stop

1000w hps. thats fine, dont go changing that. your obviously doing something wrong OTHER THAN the light.

whats the soil like? whats up with your nutrients? wahts the pH of what your watering, and whats the ph of the runoff?, whats the size of the container its in, and whats thte size of the plant? what are the temps? do you own a camera?

theres a lot of reasons that can decrease yield. your lighting isnt one of them, i use a 250w HPS on 3 plants in my flowering area and i pull a good 4 ounces off each.

The last thing this guy needs is an expensive hid lamp. He needs to learn what he is doing first.
