If I remember correctly my tap water is about 300 ppm. I mix the nutrients, and then pH. The PPM is reading is taken after achieving the desired pH. The ph adjuster does add to the ppm so I do just enough to get into the hydroponic pH range of 5.5 - 6.5. My water and nutrients put me at a higher pH so I only ever use pH down. My PPMs came out a little lower last time at 1100-1200 but my meter isn't the best (cheap Vivosun combo).
As far as the amounts, I do 2/1/2 start to finish except in flower I added 1/4 dose of flower fuel (pk boost) to each batch. I really like what I got from that grow, but to simplify things this time around I'm going without it. If I need to I will go a little stronger on the Masterblend but considering the monster tomato and pepper plants people grow with 2/1/2 I think it will be okay.
For coco/perlite I have been getting Mother Earth 70% coco/30% perlite in 50 liter bags from Amazon and just use it straight out of the bag.
One of my biggest issues was germination. I wasted like 8 bag seeds I had collected and only one sprouted because I used rockwool that I didn't properly treat to try to germinate. Once I switched to condiment cups with a little wet paper towel in the bottom put on top of my router I have had 100% germination with any kind of seeds I've tried (usually in a few days but the Skywalker OG took about a week). Just add a few drops of water if it starts to dry out.
Another tip, if you get a pH meter that has packets you mix with distilled water for calibration. You can mix them in jars and save them to calibrate before each use. Mine came with three different ones but I only ever calibrate to 6.86.
On to the pictures Lots of growth since Monday.
