Ever been to a harbor freight store? 99% china made. Some peolle rag on that store for being cheap "crap" but i can say i have several tools, power and non powered, that ive had going on 4 years or so. All working perfectly. Why did i shop there and not somewhere else with american tools? I couldnt afford it.
This isnt going to bring down costs of american made anything, itll just make it more competitive. With the cost of inflation, materials. Like iron ore and the like that we get from china is going to skyrocket thus making a vast majority of american made goods to get even more expensive. This ia Romneys plan to trick us into believing hes soing something good for america.
He dont care about the lower class citizen, hes made this clear. Making things more expensive in the long run will only hurt us more in the long run.
PS- Ive had many american made tools and such break before my china made items. I try to buy american when i can on certain items. Take a look around your house as UB said and youll be surprised at how many things come from over seas. Things you wouldnt even imagine.
I need a sapporo...
I shop at Harbor Freight regularly. I have been using their 15 dollar drills for years and have no issues with them.
At the same time, when prices when up on foreign cars they are still in demand. Foreign cars are as expensive if not more so than American cars but people are willing to spend the money because of the quality.
I would imagine it would be the same way in most regards.
Although, I am unbelievably happy with my Vizio 3d tv that I am sure I would never have been able to afford if not for the Chinese and Walmart.
