You guys are used to the ones with handles. Nobodies hand is tough enough to deal with the heat coming off a magnetic ballast. 2 seconds is a burn on almost anybody. Soap your the only one here with a normal ballast i guess. hydrofarm makes an "open ended" magnetic ballast we have all seen a million times.

your hand is on the front of that magnetic. put your hand on the rear end of that thang, where the ballast sits. And no, they dont suck, your using one!

Where you want my hands front- back LOL its warm at most LOL an these are not the same as the tin box you showed these are solid heat sink not tin.
he's using a different model of what u posted, one with heatsink to keep the coil cool
lol man yours it has a heatsink cuz it is fucking 1000 watts... btw if i had like 200 $ i would buy one
unscrew it and put your hand on the magnetic coil

mine is ass backwards.... my 1k's dont have the sink , my lil 400 looks identical to his. I aint used it in so long i figured it got just as hot.
they are just sitting on ceramic tiles. 4 in a tiny closet makes for some heat!nice mate! ceramic tiles is what i use also!
