Make $2200 worth of "Clear Rez" for $4 !!!

I'm using my gram scale that I use for my master blend fert to measure the shock.

I'm doing .1g of shock for 12oz water. Based on my calculations is the same as 1g per gallon of water.

Then, 6ml of that solution per gallon of water. I run 3gal of water in my 5gal dwc bucket, so, 18ml of solution twice a week.

I started with the the pool shock advanced but ordered the regular pool shock that someone posted a link to on Amazon a few posts back. Not sure if it makes much of a difference, I know the hypochlorite percentage is a few points different.

The roots do not seem slimy and there is no odor so I guess I'll just let it ride. Thank you. Adding some pics

I used to mix a tsp of shock into a gallon of water and then dump about half that gallon in my 40gal rez every 3-4 days. Kept things nice and clean.

Tbh I just fill a teaspoon with pool shoco, mix until it breaks down into a glass of RO water, and throw that in the res. It's good for about 3 days.
i just started pool shock…..I am guessing the pool shock is only effective for 3 days?? Should I add shock to the remainder of my res at the 3 day mark?? ( I am referring to pool shock mixed down at the correct dosage and then mixed down to 4ml per gal.).

The correct dosage depends on what the actual content is. I've always found regular unscented bleach to be cleaner with less inerts than Poolshock, concentration is also always the same. I've seen numbers all over the place with Poolshock, some 50% and some 70% pure.

That's how I understand it. I mix up based on my chart below when i replace my res. Then after 3 days I add another dose of shock based on the water amount left in the res. Repeat.
