Marijuana Grow 2011

Hello fellow RIUppers, I was planning on maybe starting the usual "after-frost" seasonal cannabis grow around May, but this year I am a bit too impatient. Last years grow was from July to Early November. It was successful and my first grow to be finished(pictures and threads for that grow are in my profile). It is March and I am in the southeast and from sources, the grow season for Mary Jane here is in late March. I started 3 seeds in soil late February due to pretty good warm temps and one popped up outside where the flowering pot is. I brought it inside and put the pot under two 26 watt CFL's once one seedling showed and it was just about in the center with a bit of purple from the cold. It will be going back outside once it has a stable main stem to withstand the wind and whatnot. It is now just about 4-5 days from sprouting out and this one I hope will be this years herb to feast off of. Here are a couple of pictures to start off the year and I will certainly keep you all up to date...

Plant is growing good. Cannabis is a C3 plant, so it needs light all the time to photosynthesize. I got it on approx. 20-21 H on/2-3 H off.

Here are a few pix of the 14 day old shrub today. Doing rather well. Cannabis thrives in light. the more the better the longer too.

ALREADY! starting to show 9 bladed leaves and it went to that from 6. i wonder if this one is gonna reach 13-15-17 blades. =]

Few pix of Day 18. It's looking too beautiful. Very indica dominant. Bagseed again is always a fun thing for the mystery.

hey bro ive been having mine under 24 hour light and it seems like it isnt growing much. Suggest 2-3 darkness for vegetation?

hmmm...maybe you should put it to 20 hours on/4 off. i did that and look at it. its not even 4 weeks and its flowering. but you have to keep in mind the type of strain. what kind are you growing brother? The one good thing is having lights close by but only as much as 2-3 inches from the leaves as this allows the plants to not have to stretch for light. No wonder cannabis sativa got how it did. the sunlight in the asian region wasnt as strong as in Afghanistan where Indica grows. Hope its going well. You also got a thread up for your new grow?

I am growing flashback #2 Hindu kush and Blue hash. They were growing slow but i happened to have added mexican bat guano and bird guano and seen a huge difference. damn bro thats crazy i never thought of the sativa and indica. No i dont i will be posting one though. Plant is looking beautiful bro.

hey bro. great grow, the plant looks great! ive been compairing my plant's days w/ your plants day's to see if my plant is healthy (im a brand new grower.. this is my very 1st plant). cant wait to hear the sex!

i also have the same question as megaowner ----- i have a california hash plant from dinafem that has been growing for about 18 days now w/ 24/7 hours of light.
i think the plant looks good, the leaves are kind of starting to curl in which i think i might need to water it with a little bit of eapsom(sp) salt.. a few fungus gnats, but since i put fly traps up ive seen less and less. other than that i think its doing good.

since im about 18 days into my plant should i start thinking of switching my light schedule? should i switch my light schedule now, or in XX number of days?
any help would be great!! i hope my plant looks as good as yours on day 26

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! you might stress the plant by switching and im glad to see u getting one to go. im pissed now but eh idk. might put the plant in someones yard hahaha. thanks man. Good luck with the grow Vedder and I hope it turns out very good and feminized. oh and Mega thats a nice stash of plants to grow. hope they go well and are female. keep keepin it going and both of yall will have something. im gonna retry in the summer. itll be beautiful cus its good old green herbery!!! switch to maybe 20/4. i did and its wonderful. alot of light and just enuff rest for it to keep going.

mines a male by the way. LOL. i pulled it and will try to order Caramellicious later in the year. it looks amazing. 15-20 percent thc and a very strong High not a stoned. looks like rainbow bud.

you still planning on putting it outside???

i am wanting to do a all cfl grow in my closet (indoor). but i only have a 4' tube fluorescent which works great for seedlings but don't know about flowering haven't tried it..
