Just went outside after hearing a weird noise to find half my garden blown down. There was no wind warning in effect and weather said 7-10, but the wind was whipping!!! Now says fire warning with 20 mph gust til tonight, wth? I watered the pots I could to make them heavier, this freak wind storm blew down 5 gallon buckets with 6 - 7 foot plants, and 4 gal pots with 4 footers as well. Like things haven't been challenging enough. Oh well, its a weed, right, maybe a rough ride wont be too bad, got the ones I could on the porch, and will see what happens as it unfolds... crap.

it wouldnt be a treatment on the leaves thing... it has to do w the temps and stuff but im pretty sure it has to do with the way the water relases from the plant... a bad vpd will allow the water relasing from the plant thru the photosythises to stay in or on the leaves too long... the outsides of the nugs can usual be dried by wind but the inside are the issue... if im in the danger zone.. ill reduce the watering... but idk if that helps... but i do know the bigger the nugs the more toruble your in... last year i threw out what i thought would have been about 6 pounds of mostly the biggest colas.... it wasnt the cold that did them in... it was when it was cold and rainy for a few days... and mine r in a greenhouse.. so it wasnt thhey were wet from rain... it was vpd induced bud rot... im pretty sure... its an inside out thing... and those things suck to deal w... i just amputate... anything w a weird color that looks like cobwebs a little deeper in...

A lot of that is strain dependent.

For sure, some of our brooks where people usually swim are down to puddles, and NH and ME have had fire warnings on and off for a week+. Alert I got this morning said RH in the 20% range.
Hurricane Teddy coming your way next week.

How did you make out with the recovery effort?

Northern MA (close to NH border) and my outdoor garden has maybe another 2-3 weeks for harvest. I’m fearing the frost. Building a greenhouse around it tomorrow.
Looking good I would go a month at least for a heavy yield and strong weed personally. Here’s a pic of mine in Northern Ontario. Hoping to push another month. To each there own though.

Woke up to find my garden trashed two weeks out as well.
AND 2020 = THE YEAR OF SUCK
Between the wind and rain is just wasted.

Lots of people in Mass got hammered. Sad week for us all.

i mean don’t get me wrong, a bunch of my crop still stands considering the volume I’m growing but some of the best branches I had snapped. Pictures below. Most of these visually look ready (brown pists) but the tris could have used another 1-2 weeks. I’m sure they will still smoke fine.

Sucks that you have damage - it's never going to be easy growing in New England. I staked and tied off the heavier branches yesterday - I did it for the tropical storm in August too, and that was before flowering added so much weight. Glad I did, because getting soaked and then getting whipped around probably would have taken a bunch down.
