hey i have my girls in flower, only on day 5 of flower, but i also used a light schedule designed to induce pre-flowering, so i didnt put any dudes into flower. i wasnt able to take any cuttings cause things got kinda rushed.
so now i am around day 5 or 6 cant get to the caledar to check. would it still be possible for me to take a few cuttings from each plant?

k have decided to clone, everyone said its a good idea, my new question is....
i made some calls, and am heading to the grow tonight after the hydro shopw where they are holding a cloner kit for me. i have never cloned before. am a lotta nervous cause i KNOW if i leave em alone i will have about 9 or 10 grams that i am cutting off in the HOPE that i do it correct and have a succesfull number. so that i can get way more than 10 grams. ill sacrifice a limb for a whole plant!
going to the hydro shop today, getting dome, tray, rooting gel, already have gloves, dont have scalpel, gonna have to use a sharp kitchen knife. will take pics as i do it, hopefully you guys will stay posted and be able to tell me if i make any mistakes. will cfl bulbs work for light? if i laid like 6 on the top of the dome? thats all i have for lighting, cant afford to buy anything else, but i have
3- 13 w cfl
1- 23w cfll
they are on cords so i can just drape them across the top of the dome hopefully that is enough light close enough to them heating will be an issue. but it is hott as shiit outside anyways, hopefully will be ok
k was told not to lay lights directly on dome, so going to have to figure something out, maybe set the cloner in a box and clamp lights to the box hanging directly above the dome?
any, and i mean ANY advice is welcom

Yes.You can take cuttings a good ways into flower, just the longer into flower it some times take your cuts to revert into the vegetative stage of growth again. This slows things down but workable.

I don't take cuttings from plants in the veg room any more.between 2-3 weeks of flower is my choice.......resulting into more of a bush than a regular plant.

You can clone from them now. They take longer to root for you though. I do this all the time so I can sex them before cutting clones. There is a technique called monster cropping that involves taking a cutting after it already has flowers. This causes it to branch like crazy.

The longer you wait into flowering the longer they will take to revert back to veg. Up 2 weeks into flowering no problems. By the time they root they are already adjusted.

The second reason i prefer to take cuts from 2-3 weeks after flower is by this time i have given some sort of higher P to N feeding.

P promotes root growth

N can delay rooting if to high

my girls are pretty columular, not alot of large branches. some minor branching, should i try to clone them, and would a minor topping hurt the yeild alot? like just an established node, and clone that top? would this give me a bertter clone chance?
i am fine with vegging for 4 week, i would just take a few cuttings from them and have a nice staggered harvest in about 6 weeks, instead of germming seeds in 6 weeks

Yes CFL bulbs are fine for rooting clones, they do not need muc light, I actually root under 2 26 watt CFL's and have never had a problem.....if you need heat use a heating pad undr the dome, dont get porked for a $40 mat at the grow shop. Use a regular heating pad ($10 at Wallyworld)...I wouldnt lay the bulbs directly on the dome, too uch heat; you might melt the dome.

You can also take cuttings at any time you want; ive taken cuts at harvest before. No need for a scalpel, you can use a razor blade or a nice sharp knife-scissors.....just make sure they are clean.

how would you suggest i place the bulbs? yhey are the clamp on type, and i a few y adapters as well, i dont think they will fit inside the dome, otherwise i would just put them in like that,.... think i could use like a small block to balance them on so they werent directly ON the plastic?

Don't worry about lighting. You can place cuttings any where regardless of light.Temps and moisture is what you seek.

yeah you can take cuttings i have don it to a plant that was like 3 weeks in flowering and got roots in like 2 weeks but it took about 2 to 3 weeks to get it to go back to veg

what about special moisture or sprays rather, do i just mist them with the b1thrive water? or spring water? then let em sit under the dome? i have no doubt it will make moisture as hot as it has been and will be. i guess i wont be able to cut til tomorrow since i will want to soak the cubes for 24..

you don't need a dome and I really wouldn't worry about the heat unless it's above around 95 degrees

A warmer root zone than surrounding air temps will give fast results. If your not concerned with how fast toss them in a cup of water and leave them alone. Some strains may take a week some may take 2.

Rock wool cubes?

the guy at the hydro shop is gonna let me have 10 rockwool cubes, i want to take my cuttings, place them in the cubes, mist em follow the steps for cloning, after say 4 weeks i should see roots. peel off paper and put that plant in a 3 gallon pot, vrgg thrm for another 2 weeks while this current grow is finishing, then going to have another week of veg from using tent as a drier, so a 7 week total veg counting the 4 weeks to root. then put them into flower again.
couldnt get a ride so gotta wait till tomorrow to get supplies
