That Forbes article was absolutely hilarious. Didn't finish it so there might be a better gem but the following puts the lie to what the author is trying to say:

America’s most fascistic elements are ultra leftwing organizations like La Raza or the Congressional Black Caucus. These racial nationalists seek gain not through merit, but through the attainment of government privileges. What’s the difference between segregation and affirmative action? They are identical phenomena harnessing state auspices to impose racialist dogma.

Oh, the piece of shit article spent a lot of time trying to tie all socially progressive policies and support to fascism. The author avoided mentioning that totalitarian dictatorship, anathema to socially progressive movements like La Raza and the Black Caucus, is the central pillar of fascism.

The author used false equivalence thoughout.: Hitler offered universal healthcare, therefore universal healthcare is fascist.

Never mind that Hitler was a totalitarian dictator, had anybody he considered a threat - real or imagined - murdered without a trial or remorse and endorsed medical experiments on prisoners. Nope, universal healthcare.

That Forbes piece of shit was pure propaganda written for weak minds like @cool2burn 's. A tool if there ever was one.

Thanks for telling me about the DSA. I'm reading on their website, interesting stuff.

The Democratic Party has succeeded in eclipsing any center left movements to the point of obscurity. It's time all these groups got together and offered an alternative coalition. The time seems right for them. What do you think of that?

The DSA isn't a party. They say that in the very beginning of their manifesto. They are trying to enact change through raising awareness.

Anyway, there are a lot of groups on the left that could count for a lot if they coordinated their efforts.

It seems to me that the Democratic Party and even the Sanders wing has been working to obscure the idea that there's more to the New Left than just themselves.

I think it's deliberate and I think the Establishment Democratic Party knows this is their weakness.

I'm just poking at the idea that the DSA and other movements will coalesce into an effective third party.
