You are ignoring that the emails didn't contain anything really damning in them. And the things that supposedly were are suspect because it would be easy to manufacture a couple here and there which it seems like they had done.

If that were true, they wouldn't have damaged her campaign. The emails showed definitive proof of coordination between the DNC and the Clinton campaign when they are supposed to remain neutral throughout the process.

Which is why Trump wanted an announcement of the Russian manufactured dirt on Biden. It is not about reality, it is about cheating and trying to trick voters into thinking there is something that there is not.
People are forced out all the time for the appearance of wrongdoing to shut people up because shit needs to get done. Until Trump cheated the American electorate with his lies and use of foreign military aid in his election, which is illegal.
