Me Oh My's 5x5 perpetual

Yeh, I think the only way I can get the most out of that light is with a scrog, or a more even canopy. Once I add the supplemental lights, I should have around 600 watts.
I'm hoping it helps.

Yeah, light drops off quick. That's the main reason I spread plants out wide. Try n capture all the big lamp can offer.

I just did an upgrade. Added 600w to the 4x8. Now I'm throwing 1100w at them all together. They seem to be loving it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they help. Ya definitely need more light in that big 5x5.
I'm been thinking of adding another 200 watts of overhead lighting. I'm struggling with the footprint dimensions on the smaller watt LED lights.I really need a 200 watt that's 1'x2', or like, 10" x 30". I may just add some hanging strip lights on each side of my 440 watt light.

I am still waiting for the vertical strip lights, they should be here tomorrow. I also ordered a 300 watt LED to add to the 450 watts I have in there now. That will give me 750 watts of overhead light. I found one that has the footprint I'm looking for, so I can hang it next to my current one.

I'm liking the bud stacking and growth structure on this Columbian X Skunk from Coastal Seeds. I expected a long, stretchy, slow, 12-14 week finisher, but so far, it is doing everything quickly!

The Sensi, Shiva Skunk is looking like she's going to bust out a nice canopy, once the stretch starts with her.

The perfect number in my tent feels like 5 plants. Once I get those vertical bloom strips and the additional 300 watt light, I'll have about 935 watts in my 5x5'. Here is the current configuration.

I also did a little super-cropping on a tall leggy, stretched plant. I had overcrowded the tent a few weeks ago, trying to get the perpetual started, so I threw a few plants, staggered a week or two apart, on the sides to start stretching. They got a bit leggy, but the canopy should even out now.

The strip lights arrived. They came with great mounting options, including tent pole clips.
I daisy chained them and everything works great. I also ordered a 300 watt LED overhead to add to my 440.

Here is the tent with the supplemental light going. Even if it doesn't do much for bud production, it sure looks pretty!

The new 300 watt overhead light is hung. With the 440 watt, I already have, I'll have 740 overhead, and the bloom light strips add another 160. I have over 900 watts in my 5x5' now. I'm able to spread the plants out nice now, and the vertical bloom light strips will help a bit. I used my par meter and got all the spots covered pretty good.

Yeh, I think so too. I was nervous about the heat in the tent. My 440 watt has a remote ballast, so it doesn't get hot, but the new 300 watt overhead is mounted on top.
Temps went from 74-78 before the new light, up to 82-86 all day.

I expect a lot less popcorn, and bigger yields now.
Very nice to run into a fellow grower here in Ohio. I'm central ohio and 63 years young. Looking forward to following along with your work. Thank you for taking the time to share your talents. Welcome back!

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome. I'm excited to be back at it, after an 8 year break!
So far luckily..., it looks like I remembered, more than I forgot. Lol
I'm real glad to see growers in Ohio! I have a buddy down in Wellston in south central Ohio. I'm heading down there to fish tomorrow. I'm also getting him set up for growing.

I look forward to following your threads and posts, thanks.

Like wise my friend. The new law is bringing ohio grower out of the closet for sure. I'm liking the fact I no longer have to wear the fake nose and glasses to the hydro store. I am quite sure your friend will benefit well from you knowledge. And good luck on you fishing adventures down south.

I have been absent a bit with family and out of town guests. My perpetual is getting interesting. The two land race sativa crosses, are stacking up pretty fat colas. The Columbian x Skunk in the back right, is at 8 weeks flowering today, and still pushing new calyx, pistils. It is supposed only be a 10-12 week finisher because of the 50/50 Skunk cross. I think that may be about right. I'm starting to get quite a bit of fade, on the lower fans, and a bit of yellowing. The buds are pretty hard and tight. She is a few weeks away, but smells amazing! Here is an overall pic of the tent today.

Another Ice Water. I liked the first run, so I decided to keep it in the rotation. So far, I have two plants in my 5 plant, 5'x5' in the "keepers" stable. the other 3 plants in flower now, are "first timers".
The two keepers will stay in rotation for now until a better plant comes along. After a couple years, I should have 5-7 permanent plants runnng in rotation.

At least....that's my theory. Lol

I hope I come across a keeper one day! The "stable" is genius, I love variety.

I'm trying a new canopy management system. I topped this plant so many times, it has about 24 tops. I got a couple small scrog nets. I want to fill the entire footprint of the tent, but a full scrog doesn't work well, in a perpetual.
I can move this plant around and keep the canopy inside the net. I have too much, heavy, leaning plants, that all tangle up later in flower. The branches tend to lean, all over the place. Light doesn't penetrate well in the tent.

It just went in 5 days ago, so I will raise the net, and tuck the branches as she stretches.

I know you have only had your far reds in your corners for a short time, but so far are you seeing anything form them? Looking forward to finding out if they help. If it's OK to ask, we're they costly? Do you notice a change in the heat of the tent when you installed them? Sorry to hit you with the questions. And very nice looking grow you have going on BTW.
