Meijui Bar Light Question

Yeah, it is pretty useless. I had a couple questions and instead of answers, it turns into a pissing match. In the past I've found forums are usually a pretty good source for info from people in the know. Maybe this forum is the exception that proves the rule. I can only imagine what would have happened if I asked about switching to Advanced from GH. That said you can shit on Meijui lights all you want, but BK78s Shit Show is about as convincing as it gets via the intrawebz. If you don't have any compelling reason or evidence not to buy these lights, you really don't have much to contribute do you?
Hey man, I know this turned stupid but I don't think anyone has said don't buy those lights unless I missed it sifting through this mess? The silliness has clouded the thread. I pointed you at BK because he runs that brand successfully. Not sure why this degraded into this foolishness. Oh well, I will just go leave you to your thread. Good luck, hope you find the info you need.

only thing i would ask is what is the warranty on each? and what is the procedure to get warranty work done? does it involve shipping unit back to China? is the Meiju UL rated?
Not a huge concern to me. If the lamp dies, then I can swap in an old HPS. My guess is after shipping, etc, it's not worth the headache. That does bring up a good point though. I happen to have spare lamps, but if you were totally new to the hobby, it may make sense to pay the extra $$$ for lamps from the local store in case you do run into warranty issues or need some sort of support.

the UL rating would be highest on my personal list .

but yeah, if you have to pay freight to china to get it worked on then you either you eat it or you lose the price difference.

your plants ain't gonna know the difference b/t a Meiju and a HLG

Sounds like u have the problem? I never said anything bad about Meijui lights. I fail to see the pissing match. U R the one that said you've had lots of success with HPS but are switching - If you don't have any pictures that's cool don't be so mad about it.

I literally wanted you to buy the lights. Weird.
Okay, my bad. I guess I read something into your posts that wasn't there. I'll get them. TBH, I probably won't report back results either way. When I get on a forum, I end up wasting too much time on it, so it best if I just move on....

It's just a slow day amid a pandemic and the most depressing christmas season I've witnessed in many moons as a sitting US president casts doubt on the election results potentially throwing the country into a constitutional crisis. Is it okay if we have a little fun from time to time here sugar bear? Would you like a reach around? Bk has the best technique. He taught me it's all about the rythm - not how much energy you exert. Changed my life dude. All I'm saying.

Yeah, I was looking at Grower's Choice, who is UL rated. That's how I ended up on here, looking for GC reviews. I prefer bars to boards, so HLG is off the list. I was impressed with HLG I saw at the store. My eyes say the HLG 650 is right there with HPS brightness, maybe not DE HPS, but it was very bright. I think my eyes will prefer the whiter light spectrum. Hope the ladies agree.....

the biggest difference is single point vs diffuse multi point lighting. IMO after using both, diffuse aka QB's are far superior.

I've used a blurple board style LED before (not impressed). It still had that hotspot under the lamp. The bar style lights obviously do the best at eliminating that.

What I've seen with the bars is high prices regardless of manufacturer. The same coverage can be achieved more cost effectively with quantum boards if cost is a consideration. I generally assume if I have a warranty issue with an alibaba purchased unit I'm going to have to negotiate with the supplier on an at-cost replacement. It's not cost effective to send a unit back and forth to China for warranty repair. Negotiating an at-cost replacement with the vendor or obtaining serviceable replacement parts to remedy the situation would be the most sensible thing to do. No vendor wants angry customers. They don't place repeat orders or provide referral business. The bar lights are fantastic, but I can get 3 660w quantum boards for the price of a single 660w bar light. Which is the better deal? Three 660w quantum boards or a single 650w bar light for nearly the same price? Decide what is best for your financial situation and garden then you'll have your answer.

Interesting. I didn't know the quantum boards were so much cheaper. I was planning on using QBs in veg if/when that time comes. I may have to rethink this. This thread has been useful afterall, although I'm still stuck in this LED rabbit hole. Originally started with finding the RIO-720 and looking for reviews. Now I'm looking at quantum boards again.... Link or brand of QBs?

Thanks guys, sorry for being pissy earlier.

Take what this dude says with a giant grain of salt, yeah he’s a member since 2008, but his first actual posts wasn’t until 2 months ago. Dude didn’t have the slightest clue about LED up until 2 months ago.

@bk78 I'm still waiting for that reach around. I'm getting blue balls here. 2008 was about the time you were graduating the 5th grade and started growing your first pubic hair. It was a special time for both of us. And now you've got a full bush, you're all grown up, and still have the linguistic capability of your 5th grade self. You truly are a special little butterfly. I'll be honest. I'm a little jealous of you and your friends getting out of school an hour earlier than the rest of us all through elementary school. And why fuck did you guys get to ride around in that cool short bus? I just don't think it's fair you got special treatment. All I'm saying.

$625 for 2 660w units with shipping included. You'll have to ask the vendor how much they'll do 3 of them for with shipping. Ring is the contact:
