also if you legalized all drugs the cartels cannot become stronger, they will have to get into some kind of legitimate bizzness kinda like they do now but minus th e drug dealing.if you take away the illicit demand for marijuana, cocaine,heroin, and meth what will they be left with?

You only need look at China's opium years to see that legalization of opiate drugs will be a huge disaster. The cartels will be destroyed along with us..... that's not a great solution....societal suicide.

im down to argue with you all all day because i come from a place were this shit is common day occurences. and yes the cartells would be left with nothing, and the "pieace of shit drug dealers" has u put it will have to get a real job, and no one will ever go to jail again for drugs, and the police would stop robbing drug dealers of there tax free money they know they wont complaine about.

last time i checked people have brains and can think for themselves, and with all the anti drug commercials, and d.a.r.e. im sure everyone know DRUGZZ ARE BAD MMMMKAYYY? lol so if they wanna stick the dope syringe in there arm then thats there biddness, and someone has to suplly them with that drug and thats someone elses biddness. you continue to grow and smoke and sell bud thats your biddness!!
 
actually guys its only legal to posses small amounts and only for personal use its not soo so bad

i'm not defending the addict, as they are responsible for their own predicaments.
however apart from being annoying and stealing things, they tend to not be terroristic murderers.

i can't logically weigh my busted window and stolen radio to a child with a bullet through their head
because they made the mistake of playing outside while one of your gangsta heros had some 'biddness' to handle.

anyone who thinks it should be legal to use and manufacture meth and other junk should just do us all a favor and move away its worthless scumbag junkies and pushers who make legalizing mj harder for the rest of us. people are warped i havent heard one good justification for legalizing hardcore drugs and dont give me any of that cliche bs it would save government funds because no gives a crap how much the govt spends junkies should be locked up as they will steal and and sell to your kids to keep their habits alive!

i think meth use would be of a much lower percentage among junkies, since its mostly popular in places where other substances are scarcely available. not trying to argue a side, just presenting a theory.

Here's your justification:

The government has NO BUSINESS telling us what we can and can't put in our bodies, even if it's "bad" for us. Especially when their definitions of "bad" are so arbitrary as to allow use of a DEADLY substance (tobacco), yet disallow use of a nonlethal drug (THC) and put people in jail for it.

Your so-called "hardcore" drugs have been illegal for decades, and their production and use hasn't slowed down one bit.

the mere fact that prohibition is a HUGE FAIL is justification enough to stop putting people in jail for using drugs. Any drugs. Period.

Addiction is a sickness, not a crime.


It's not as if Mexico were the first country to do this, either. Portugal decriminalized the use of all drugs almost a decade ago, and the UN PRAISED Portugal this year for the huge strides they've taken in reducing drug use and drug-related crime. The only reason it's such a big deal that Mexico is following suit is because Mexico shares the border with the US, and the US has seen a lot of drugs and drug-related violence spilling over the border from Mexico.
