This LST grow may be interesting for you to read, very exotic bending for my first time indoor grow on my own. TONS OF AMAZING PICS. I have previously had 3 plants oudoors in grade 9 LOL, and a couple with a friend in later years. Hopefully this is in the right category help me if im wrong.
Okay hey everybody new member here just wanting to show you my CFL grow under a bed. I started with a bunch of bagseed only planted 7 and 5 CHEESE seeds from green house seed company at a local head shop. I started with only two 40 watt cfls (full spectrum) and a regular potting soil with little nutrients from Wal-Mart for a couple bucks with bamboo biodegradable 1 gallon pots. A couple days after germination in a sealable container with wet paper towel eleven little babies popped up as you can see. kept a temperature control level to the plants container to monitor it all the time.
September 21st - September 26th
One week after sprouting all the plants are growing healthy un a total of 80 CFL watts, Started adding some standard miracle grow formula its like 7:9:8 or something like that dont have it with me, either way it has been working amazingly for what i need. i started at a quarter dose and have slowly increased it to the recommended dose of 10-20 drops per liter. I have a small fan blowing from the one side of the tub in the whole through the other to create good air flow. this was all constructed in about 2 days so really didnt have time for perfection knowing i would be moving these out in a couple weeks anyways.
September 30th- October 4th
About another week later and plants have tripped size but still only require about once a week watering with miracle grow liquid. I make sure to switch the plants around so light evenly distributes, the top of the bin is white but i should have probably had white on the walls but there seemed to be plenty enough light for these babies in early veg. I try and keep the grow box around 76-80 at all times. lights are kept on 24/7 untill 12/12 flowering
October 11th-14th
I decided to add another light to the bin about a week before i would be trying to lst every plant to keep its low profile when it grows. I cut a whole on the outside of the bin so the top socket of my power bar could fit a three pronged extension in through the bin. This extension had three socket-to-light ballast connectors and three lights fitting good with the already two lights. I added one more 40 watt full spectrum that i already had and 2 23 watt lights on the side.
October 15th-18th
The plants have now become squished in the bin and have came close to the point where they are overlapping each other so i decided to start my new grow area, i got a thin tote for about $17 and placed the plants in there, i have the power bar up on the wall and the other two lights connected to the tote with a clamp about 2-3 inches away from the plants. I also have a tiny tub of water to keep the humidity up. So for ventilation i have the fan on high speed in the right corner beside the green tub of water, it slowly pulls air from under the bed where there is a 1.5 gap and same with on the other side. (it is really an amazing bed right this is just the frame, its easy to take the top piece of and NO light leaks from it just a tiny bit by the sides but that will be taken care of when I install some sort of a fan to push air out the side not touching the wall. note (right and left longer sides of the bed are air and light tight but if you notice the shorter sides at the bottom have a tiny gap.
October 18th - 19th OCTOBER 20TH FLOWERING IS INDUCED WITH 12/12
I replaced 2 23 watt full spectrum with 2 23 watt 2700k spectrum to help with flowering as well as a 40 watt 2700k CFL. Should i keep the other lights that are 5500k or replace them with 2700, or just ad some 2700 k to the mix.. let me know thanks
Well fuck, heres the little situation i was in and have been avoiding since these things were planted, i only have about 23 inches from the carpet under the tote (1" from floor) to the top of the frame, including a 5 inch pot and a minimum of 4 inches for CFL lights at the top that mean max space for the plant would be 14 inches so basically a foot and a bit lol.
So anyways i decided to do a ton of research on lsting (LOW STRESS TRAINING), pruning, topping, and FIMing.. I decided that i would tie them down after a 3 day process of bending them i did it pretty slowly starting with the main stem 2/3's of the way up from the soil. The next day i used green string to put more bend points on the main stem especially the newest top leaf set, which still grows out a bit each day but i just add new string to wrap it around the inside of the pot around the stem, today one of the plants actually snapped, i tried to bend it more forgetting that it was the one that had a small break in the stem and it broke right off about halfway up the stem, lower nodes are growing well (written 5 hours after), so im sure even tho the top is off it may still have good budding sites. Some of the huge fan leaves reach to the light far too quick so i had to put a bit of string over them to keep them at a modest height.
October 21st-now (October 23rd)
I would consider this more of an experiment of how bored i have been lately but yet not able to have anything at all bigger, i saw the bed and i realized i had to do it mainly because of the perfect security under there. It is literally a perfect place for a couple plants, maybe im a goof by having 10 but im sure at least 3 will become males in the next couple days or so. ill probably put them in someones mail box when i do find out maybe pollinate a nug or two on a female (having the male in another room)
If anyone has any input i am GLAD to accept it as we can always learn from others this is a new account i made since i lost mine a couple years ago and just got back into it and interested.
ONE MAJOR ISSUE- its in the basement and at the top of the stairs when the bedroom door is open you can smell the veg pretty well now, some people still cant smell although in two weeks it should be pretty bad! anyone have cheap ways of making something that will work. I wanna make a chamber on the one side of the bed where no light can get throught because i will fit a cardboard piece with a fan whole to put air into the chamber, then idk what to do maybe get a $10 tub of odour control from my hydro store locally, will this be enough? i try and keep the window open to keep fresh air flowing and with the vents that push cold air in..
Anyone wanna let me know what kinda lights i should get next, planning on just adding, idk if 125 watt ones are possible with my space and i can get 40 watt ones easily..
