I've collected dozens of seeds during my smoking career, all brand name of course- I decided to finally put some in the ground. So I germ 6 seeds hoping to get 2 females that i can grow into full plants. Grow gets off to a good start, and they start to sex around 5wks @ 16" tall. I notice two of them with pistils and think, 'Oh cool! I have two females'. As it turns out, all 6 of them f%#!ers are females! I felt as though killing 4 of them off would be wasting the luck I was given, so I grow all 6 of em. Only problem is I only have the one ballast (self-wired) for a 100W HPS. I start flowering @ 18"- 6 wks in, afraid that 6 large plants would overwhelm my puny light.
I am now 5 weeks into flowering, and on average the trichomes are about 50/50 (half clear, half cloudy) with virtually no amber. The plants have only gotten an inch or two taller each since i began flowering. I have no C02 input for the plants beside sitting up there with them for about 2 hours every day, and im not burning candles up there or any dumb S%!t like that. I foliage feed once a week with a very diluted water/ Tiger Bloom mix (about 25%) and alternate between regular water and 40% strength TB every 5 days (the reason its every 5 is b/c they are sitting in about 12 gallons of soil and it stays wet for quite a while). PH is at a constant 6.7-6.8 thanks to dolomite lime, and the only issue i had with the plants was a Calcium def in one which i quickly solved with ground eggshell. As for lighting I keep the light about 4'' from the tops of the plants, with a fan blowing across the tops. Humidity was around 45 with temps @ 85, it has dropped to 20 @ 70 with the weather.
You're probably wondering why Im telling you all of this, and the reason is I feel like the plants are not producing as much or as quickly as they should and I do not know why. I've already come to understand these plants will need to flower a little longer than most because of the low amount of light and available C02, but based on the trichomes I would say the plants are more than half way done. What do you think? What do you think the yield will be? Eyeballing it all now I'd say I'm right around 50 grams. When should I plan on harvesting?
