This is my first year seriously growing, I am in Southern ND.. sucks we have such a short season. Growing Sweet Dreams, Sweet Tooth, Northern Lights x Skunk1, Oh!zone, and Iranian G13. I always go crazy, so plan on having about 600 plants planting a few here and there. If this works I can't wait to harvest. That will be one big ass pile of buds. It would be great if us Northern growers could keep in touch. Good Luck

Yup, I've been working on my closet veg box for about a month now, making small changes here and there. Reading new info on here and tweaking my box just a touch. Just today I added homemade pop can CFL reflectors that I saw on the DIY page. Kinda sticky but turned out nice. (Little tip for anyone who does this, use diet pop since there's no sugar to get you all sticky). I'll post some pics of my box sometime so I can get some last minute critiquinng. And plantvison good luck on your grow, I don't know how much expirience you've got but that's a monster grow you've got planned. Good luck to you

No Way dude! I'm using the DIY pop can reflectors too! However, I spray painted the insides all white because I wasn't happy with the reflectivity of the uncoated pop can. Worked great and looks professional.

Wow haha, I'll be sure to get a pic up in the next few weeks when i go back home.

Well I'll be using,

4x 26w 5000k(said "daylight" but not 6500k...)
2x 26w 6500k

Total of probably 14-20 plants, but I'll only be starting them for probably 3 weeks in this box then ill move them outside.

Heres some pics from my scouting on Sunday:
Here is my water source. Hopefully, and from the looks look google maps most likely, this will turn into a medium sized pond. It's about 400 feet max from my grow area and the walk isn't bad at all.

This is where my plot will be, this is a part of the clreaing that goes back about 100 feet and is about 150 feet across. It's surrounded by woods on three sides, the fourth side be being beautiful southern exposure . Cosmetic holes are added for poops and jollies.

Awesome walking conditions! My snowshoes barely penetrated an inch at most haha!

How I get about 2/3 of the way to my spot =) Not in stealthy mode though. For that I'll use the bicycle...

Hope you enjoyed!

Ugghh well I've been testing my veg box to make sure it will work right when the seeds arive, I had been running 4 13w 800lumen cfl and getting around 75-80 degrees but today I got 4 23w 1600lumen bulbs, set it up and came back a few hours later to find the temp in the high ninties! I've got 2pc fans cooling my box. The dimensions of the box are 18wx18Lx24h. Would the smaller bulbs provide suffiencent light? The smaller bulbs totalled 3200lumens and the larger bulbs totalled 6400lumens. I plan on sprouting about 10 plants

I've got 6 23w bulbs in a 20 gallon tote and my temps stay fine. I have one pc fan intake and one smaller pc fan on the lid of the box above all of the lights exhausting. Seems to work pretty good. Plus even if my temps do climb to upper 80's/low 90's thats just fine because I'll be running CO2 generator and the high temps will only help the utilization of the CO2

Alright, I've got two pc fans running off of one 12v power cord for exhaust with a passive intake

Idk what to tell you man, cfl's shouldn't be putting of all that much heat imo. I was originally going to only have the one 120mm fan as intake and have a passive exhaust, because I want the action of the fan blowing over my plants to help strengthen their stems so when I put them outside they don't all snap like toothpicks.

You're growing in basically the same container as me so Can't see the problem. Perhaps you could put a fan on the top to exhaust the heat better?

alrighty i got my temps under control, my buddy had a computer fan that was much larger and more powerful than the ones i was using. when i plugged it in it practically flew away haha. and also when i cam home from school i spied a beautiful blue package on the kitchen table with my name on it so i grabbed it and pranced upstairs to unvail my fantastic t shirt i ordered along with my seeds! thank you attitude for your stealthy shipping they arrived in about 16 days. so now im gonna wait a week or two and plop those cute little seeds in some soil

i agree with overgrow....no big greenhouse grows unless u can really keep it off limits and away from prying eyes......so i mean if ur out of town past chanhassan albertville whitebear lake or burnsville etc.., then u may be ok but not if u live in downtown minneapolis or st. paul

mn growers i like this haha. But im doing another outdoor grow this year and was wondering the best places to grow in you live in the heart of the twin cities, i want to do like 20 plants or more in different areas.Should i make a greenhouse? plus how do move a plant that is vegged for 3 plus months its got to be like 4-5 feet tall if im not mistaken.
Grow it in a bag. cut the bottom of the bag on the replant.
If you are talking about the heaviness. I have a plant over 6feet in my room and 2 smaller plants in the same basket growing, it's no heavier than a 30lb dumb bell.

Lol, why does it have to be a 30lb dumbell? Why not 30lbs of feathers, or buds?

I was thinking the same thing :D

but when I think of 30lbs of other items it sounds kind of heavy, but then when you think of how light a 30lb dumbbell is... it sounds a lot easier. Just a psychological assessment :D
