Mohican's 2012 Season - Malawi Gold

Dry total is about 9 pounds (4 pounds each in two totes and another pound in jars) and I put at least that much more in the mulch pile! That was the weirdest thing I have ever done - a big pile of rotting weed in my yard

It was way early with all clear trichromes. I left a few colas on my mainlined testers until Christmas and they definitly were still putting on weight and getting better. Most rotted by then but some survived and is curing in a jar. It is very piney smelling. Tried to take some pics of the dried buds but the lighting and focus was bad.

My computer has been down since 12/21 so I have been rebuilding and loading software for 3 weeks now! Computer hell!


I am back now and working on my new stainless steel hempy system. I am going to try @flowamasta 's method. I just need to get some Jack x Skunk!

MzJill was lucky enough to be gifted this amazing Orange Skunk and the day we smoked the finished bud we knew we had to outcross it with our Space Queen male. You don't really have to be a master breeder to figure out orange, pineapple and mango will be a good combination. The resulting outcross is remarkably stable and is close to a 50/50 representation of the parents. Topped only once it grows into a nice short bush with lots of side branching and multi heads. Flavors range from orange, Tang, candy, mango, and apple. The cross works really well in SOG or ScrOG. Very large stems and huge top colas make this an easy strain to grow in any medium.

We had 5 females in our bud room and 4 could be clones. They possess the same height, same growth speed and all have that dank orange smell. Very good as a mood elevator with a feeling of general euphoria experienced while high on this cross. Lime green with vibrant orange hairs and with temperature drops it can turn a deep burgundy to maroon.

Just talked to Nick at Holy Smoke Seeds and his new project crosses are almost ready. This will give me time to get my setup ready. I may try a 12/12 from seed on some of my MozPoz crosses with a simple setup to see if my LED can give better results on a smaller area. I love the low heat and low wattage concept of the LED. However, I want to grow some dank! I am not sure if this Kessil can pull it off. I need to give it a clean grow with no root rot. This Sativa wants to go really long so I need to have a clean root system.

I may try an outdoor again and just cover them in June to make them go 12/12. This way they will be hot and happy when they are swelling and will finish in August. Plus I can keep the size smaller !

After seeing what the buds looked like on the plants that grew outside until december, I realized that these Landrace Sativa strains need to go a long time. It is hard to keep a plant happy that long and that is why most people grow hybrids. I am still on the fence about what I want to do with my next grow. I do not want to spend a fortune on electricity for hot lights, an air conditioner, and a water cooler for my rez. It may not be possible but I will keep trying to grow dank with a CFL Veg/LED flower system for now and see if I can perfect the plant conditions for the system. I think short veg long flower is my key. I also need to keep my roots drier.

For outdoor, I want to build a greenhouse. The problem is, I also want to put in a basement under the greenhouse and I need to go through a number of hoops to make that happen. Slow and easy wins the race!

Everybody here is already growing non-sativa strains. I think I will keep trying to perfect the landrace Sativa grow process. I love the way that the smell, taste, and feel of the Sativa takes me back to the 70's. It is so spicy and clean! The paranoia is off the charts though

Going to the LA Cup this weekend. I will be picking up some TGA gear from Subcool and checking out what other goodies are available

The Mulanje really shined. It was the only strain I paid for and I could sure see a difference in vigor and quality. I don't think I will bother growing freebies in the future. I am really excited to see what is available at the cup this weekend! Jin's people say that I should get some girl scout cookies from PO Genetics. Not sure what I'm going to try next.

Here are the Mulanje buds that went until the end of December:



These buds smelled like Bubblegum on the plant and smelled like catpiss in the dry room. They were very sticky and the Jar of bud smells amazing

Edit: These were mainlined using the @nugbuckets method.

Malawi, Mulanje, and Mozambique Poison (MosPos) - were grown. All Landrace Sativa from the Malawi region. The Mulanje and the MosPos were grown using the Mainlining method perfected by @nugbuckets . The MosPos turned out to be male so I collected some pollen. Crossed the MosPos pollen with the Malawi and Mulanje. I was very scared and thus conservative with the pollen and there are only about 20 seeds. 2 were from the Bubblegum Mulanje. I will try these first in my next grow.

I still need to post a smoke report for the Bubble Gum Mulanje. The jar smells so dank and it was so hard to trim - kept gumming up the scissors!

I just sampled some of the Bubble Gum. 2 months in a jar - still sticky, thick rich smoke, smiley buzz, only started one tangent project and only laughed uncontrollably once

I love the pollen pics since I have never seen them in person they blow me away how much drops. If I may ask you, how long is the pollen good for? I have so many regulars this season thought I might do some pollen chucking to save on the $.

@BuzzD2Kill - Freeze it. I am not sure how long it lasts frozen.

They found some wheat pollen in an egyptian tomb and it still worked!

I found them on Amazon. Some new and some used. The Sinsemilla book is such a funny read. Says not to let the flowers get too old or they will be covered in resin and that will ruin the smoke! 1976 Berkeley.

The flowers should be bright white and have a clean odor. If you let them go too long the odor will get too heavy!

Don't let your weed get sticky and stinky ha ha ha!

That was my first attempt at dry ice hash. I didn't know that a 220 micron work bag had bigger holes than a 120 bag. Thought it was like sandpaper – 220-grit is finer than 120-grit. I buzzed the ice and buds through a coffee grinder and the poured this smoking powder into a canning jar. I put the 220 bag over the jar and screwed on the ring lid to hold the bag tightly over the mouth of the jar.

Then I just shook it over a big piece of glass. All of this green powder piled up on the glass and I was covered with sticky powder! Because of the 220 bag I got more green in the product than I expected but it tastes just like good old hash

Organized all of my pictures in Photobucket (3+ hours of work) and now they do not display correctly! I pay them for this privilege hah

Soil is mixed and cooking. Strawberries - 4 different strains - are planted along with a beefsteak tomato. Transplanted the Plumeria and dug up my potatoes. A small Golden teardrop tomato seedling that was growing on a clump of dirt on my shovel and was planted next to a warm west-facing wall is now 5 feet tall by 5 feet wide and loving the sunshine. The grapes are all starting to sprout new growth. Lemon, Tangerine and Sangria tree are showing new growth also.

A sunflower is growing in the container where the ugly reveg clone was grown. One of the leaves looked bad and when I looked underneath there was a thrip. Killing time!!!!
