Using in a hydro set up? Better off with (*much* better off) with a hydro sugar/carbo additive.

I use it in soil and it doesn't do much with the pH.

in soil, maybe its something else, but it use to be stable when i was adding just the nutes to the watering tank and now every day it goes from 6.6-6.7 to 7.3

How are you checking the soil pH? Typical is, to measure the run off. (those $5 stick in meters, I never could get to work accurately)

Molasses is quite acidic. I find that one tablespoon of molasses will change the PH of my tap water from 8 to just below 6.

Molasses + Hydro = Bad idea

You are just encouraging bacterial growth in your res. This is why your pH is climbing. Eventually, it may cause root rot. For hydro, I would use nothing but a basic 2 or 3 part nute and add a little H202 once a week to keep everything sterile.

so what are u saying hat by using molasses im encouraging bacterial growth in the solution and thats why my ph is riseing, how much H202 do i need to add,i hear it kills beneficial bacteria also so can that couse problems

this is the ph meter i use,im not checking the ph of the soil but the solution

So you mix up water days ahead of time? If so stop that with the mol. its going to help breed stuff. Plus pH drift is kinda common as you let it sit.

Molasses is acidic as shit, that is weird your pH goes up. If i were using hydro i would boil the molasses with some water first to make it more soluable in your reservoir, I'm using it in soil tho, i tested my water with the cheap little tester kit and it said it was at fuckin 4-4.5 and i only added like 1 1/2 tsp
