No, that's just the narrative the teletube sells you. They get you to focus on nitpicking pointless details and irrelavant inaccuracies so that you dismiss or forget about the legitimate arguments. But at least you know better that more guns = more safer.
 
You can buy fully auto and cans in my state with the proper police approval :)

I care not for full auto as ammo is expensive enough

But i do hope to get some cans in the future :)

I did all those things, still shoot. Don't see the need for an AR15, but I have friends and family that own them. Keep nit picking and dismissing based on irrelevant terminology though.

Hell, I live in one of the only states that actually requires you to shoot a gun to get a permit to carry. A lot of states just changed it so you basically take a couple hour class and there you go. No proof of even being able to properly handle a firearm required. That's pretty silly.

Do you think every person in the US really needs to know or wants to know how to kill with a gun? You think that is desirable and will have better results? Do you even consider the unintended consequences or understand why some people are against killing no matter what the situation?

The point of gun education isn't to teach you how to kill someone with a gun. It's the complete opposite.

You've made it clear you've had no educational courses on guns with two comments. Good job.

If someone has a gun pointed to you and/or a loved one are you still "against killing no matter what the situation?". To each their own.

Exactly, that's why we should consider restricting guns from people that haven't proven they are up to the privelege. Shit maybe I would fail based on my use of "high powered" lol.

Then what is the point of shooting a gun in self defense then? I'm pretty sure you are trying to hurt/kill whoever you are defending yourself from.

Edit: saw your late edit. I would shoot someone trying to kill me but some view killing as the worse thing a person could do and might not.

I carry for a ton of reasons least of which is a want to cause harm.

But the sword that takes life,is also the sword that saves it.

And if it is deemed necessary the person your shooting at is generally better off dead :)

One would typically say the point of shooting a gun in self defense is to... defend yourself.

OK so you are being trained to kill when necessary (nit picking?) But it also possible to use those learned skills to go on the offensive.

You don't learn offensive skills in gun safety or permit to carry classes. This is what you're not gathering. They're not military boot camps.

You're told your rights & laws locally, and how to defend yourself properly. As well as how to properly handle a firearm without hurting yourself or another.

The skills it takes to defend yourself are tranferrable to offense and in both cases the main purpose is to hurt/kill with a gun.

I thought we were talking about more extensive gun training. The hunter safety course I took didn't teach us too much about shooting.

Not likely cause when you are trained you generally have a better understanding of the consequences.

I would only shoot if t heee was life in danger as the legal headache would be a pain
