Haha Rubber was very weird, saw it several months ago based on the description "a sentient tire named Bob discovers he has telekinetic powers and goes on a killing spree"

You like twisted? A bit of a mindfuck?

Paprika (Bruce Westbrook of the Houston Chronicle said the film "is as trippy as a Jefferson Airplane light show") and Perfect Blue, later adapted by English-speaking people to be branded Inception and Black Swan respectively. Also, Ghost in the Shell, which in places, The Matrix copied scene-for scene. The sequel has stunning visuals but admittedly a story that seems alot like 'A.I' based on Asimov's novels.

Heard some good ones so far. Boondock saints is probably my favorite ever. Donni darko is fucking fantastic. Clockwork orange...so great. Puff puff pass is a good stoner movie that doesn't get much attention. Heard someone say leaves of grass....just bought it at a garage sale having never seen it......watched it probably ten times already. It's great.

BLADES OF GRASS. Everyone here will love it. Girl scouts honor
Yeah, it's pretty good. I could relate to a lot of the issues so I think that helped keep it interesting.

Reservoir Dogs, Seabiscuit, A Beautiful Mind, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Princess Mononoke, War Horse, Advent Children, The Breakfast Club, The Lion King... (seriously, watch if you didn't as a kid), Finding Nemo
Haven't seen all of those but Princess Mononoke stands out as one of the best anime movies I have seen. My cousin showed me it when I was "too young for pg-13", and I think it is just a brilliant movie.
Boondock Saints and Grandma's Boy are two of my fav ;)
Both are great.

Wheee. I might check out Blades of Grass as people keep mentioning it.

Sure, definitely watch Ghost in the Shell if you liked The Matrix, or sci-fi movies, or movies that try and screw with your mind and make you think.

EDIT: Ghost in the Shell is also an anime series, so google search the movie to watch online, or download a torrent/use a media crawler/watch on sockshare or something. The sequal is subtitled 'Innocence' with a scene that took two damn years to animate by itself...

Princess Mononoke is my favorite movie of all time... Animation aside, wolves aside... it is just a profound movie. And if you would like to acknowledge the animation, it is an artistic masterpiece that (like Satoshi Kon) often manages to express concepts, feelings and use camera movements one would usually only come to expect from a live action feature.

Haven't seen The Lion King? What??? It's fun, but you may cry at times. Beautiful background art an it is animated with soul. My only problem with it is Disney won't acknowledge the fact it was meant to be a remake of a 50's anime.

Finding Nemo is the most accurate CG underwater environment I've seen so far and it is hilarious. Tip Top and I watched it baked and we were in hysterics the whole way through.

Blades of Grass was definitely a solid movie.

How can you go wrong with a pothead Edward Norton?

And kuroi, I'm with you on Princess Mononoke. That movie is fantastic.

lol, and first no Grandma's Boy or Boondock Saints, but now you haven't seen the Lion King. WTF RAINMAN?! Have you even watched a movie before in your life?

I adore it. I have mixed views on the extended cut. Some scenes were to help some people understand the story and were visually stunning. Some just looked like game cutscenes. It is a movie with a crazy attention to detail. I notice different things every time I watch it. Also it is SO WORTH getting it on blu-ray. Even the dust looks good.

And Cloud?? Whoah. Need I say more?

He's in that? Shit, we must add American History X to the list. I didn't really like THe Shawshank Redemption of The Green Mile.

Exactly... What?? We must have an RIU sleepover and force him to watch it. I make great caramel popcorn. Everyone must wear onesies.
