Definately contam'd. That's what happens when you use a heating pad in a drawer. Toss out immediately and next time keep on an open shelf at room temp. Even low 70's is fine, though a little warmer would be quicker. Basically when you heat jars from the bottom like that it dries out the bottom and wicks moisture into you dry verm layer which is a contam filter. Once it gets wet
it no longer serves that purpose.
Might be the case had they been kept on a heating pad, but they weren't. There was a simply a heating pad in the drawer to keep the environment warm. The heating pad was not under the jars, so this couldn't have been the cause.

Doesn't matter if its underneath, to the sides, or on top of your jars... It's a heat sourse in close proximity to your colonizing jars, which are already producing thier own heat. Either way it's messing with the moisture content in the jars. Ditch the heat pad next time and don't keep them in a closed drawer.
