My 2019/2020 Winter Grow

Using the bathroom to feed the gals and take pics...won't be long before that becomes too big of a chore to move them.

All 4 are now showing preflowers

I switched to the flower nute as of Jan 12, they seem to be doing well with the new formula

#1 - I believe this one will do the best, as it's fatter than the other blue bucket
IMG_0033.JPG

#2 - this gal is tall and skinny but is healthy
IMG_0034.JPG

#3 - I'm happy with this gal in the 1 gallon bucket, doing well for a small container
IMG_0036.JPG

#4 - this gal is way too thin, I have had much better better results from a 2L pop bottle.

Once we get some decent sunshine, I'll likely give it a few hours under the sun, which may help somewhat
IMG_0031.JPG

The gals are doing well...I've been mixing up 6 litres of nutes but they are drinking so much that I need to increase that to 8 litres to allow a better run-off, which is important with "drain to waste" (hempy) as it brings the oxygen to the roots.

As mentioned in previous post, I'm now mixing up 8 litres of nutes for my gals and feeding every second day, but I save about a half litre so I can feed the 2L pop bottle every day, as it was going quite dry after 2 days.

The gals are doing well and looking fairly healthy

IMG_0085.JPG

#3 - this gal is praying a bit and a few curled leaves but all in all not so bad
IMG_0087.JPG

#4 - this gal gets a bit of sunshine when available, which is not often

the gals are doing okay but not great as I have a few issues

#1 is doing quite well...no issues
IMG_0105.JPG

#2 - upper leaves are drooping a bit, but the next pic shows my concern
IMG_0103.JPG

#2 - upper leaves starting to look unhealthy - I raised the HPS a few inches as I'm thinking a heat issue
IMG_0104.JPG

#3 - this gal has had her upper leaves curling a bit for awhile now....next pic shows a different issue
IMG_0108.JPG

# 3 - almost seems like a slight cal-mag def but only on one leaf.
I had reduced my cal-mag supplement a bit, but have now gone back to 1 mg/liter
IMG_0110.JPG

#4
doing okay, but quite tall & skinny....using a plastic shoe box filled with rocks to provide stability as it was getting a bit top-heavy

Gals are doing well....a few issues but nothing too serious

#1 - this is the healthiest gal of the bunch
IMG_0126.JPG

#2 - this gal started to show issues with the upper leaves but seems to have settled down....I'm thinking it was the reduction of Cal-Mag
IMG_0127.JPG

#3 - this gal is starting to fade a bit but nothing to drastic - the top cola is rather fluffy...time will tell
IMG_0132.JPG

# 4 - 2L pop bottle - it's tall and skinny but doing okay....she's been getting some sunshine on the sunny days
IMG_0122.JPG

Getting some sunshine

another day of sunshine

and a third day with sunshine

I'm guessing they are about 2 to 3 weeks until harvest

I'm thinking of adding my 315 CMH, just a bit lazy to revamp the tent

#1 - even this one is showing some kind of deficit like her sister
IMG_0147.JPG

#2 - the deficit is still progressing but not overly bad
IMG_0143.JPG

#3 - I'm thinking this one is just fading out
IMG_0144.JPG

#4 - as skinny as she is, it's looking very healthy
IMG_0139.JPG

The gals are coming along, some issues but not so bad

No amber trichromes yet, but they are starting to get frosty..... I added a 315 CMH on March 4th

#2
IMG_0162.JPG

#3 - this one I believe is just not getting enough food as feeding every second day leaves it bone dry
IMG_0165.JPG

#4 - this gal gets a feeding everyday, so I believe that's why she is looking healthier than #3

The gals are now 12 weeks since flipping to 11-13 and appear to be close but still not 100% ready

They have been dropping leaves like crazy..... I believe another week or so more until harvest

# 1 - I believe this one will have the largest yield, but I've been fooled before
IMG_0173.JPG

#2 this gal is getting fat and was leaning over badly, so I added a bamboo stake to help stabilize her
IMG_0179.JPG

#3 - I'm a bit disappointed with this gal, typically they do much better in this one gallon bucket
IMG_0177.JPG

#4 - this gal has been getting about 2.5 hours of sunshine but not sure if that is helping or not....it's just not filling in

I chopped the 2L plant yesterday, even if it was a bit premature

It did not have any amber trichromes but I have run out of smoke so it will be better than nothing.

IMG_0198.JPG

This is hung upside down but it looks like a cola on the bottom, which is bigger than the top cola, and I even accidently cut a large bud off the lower cola. I doubt this will be prime smoke, but likely will do the trick

IMG_0201.JPG

today I chopped the 1 gallon hempy gal (#3).....this is not my best grow ever but at least the pot is sticky as crazy glue.

I put the 2L pop bottle (#4) into jars today, tomorrow I'll chop the other gals in the blue buckets

before chopping
IMG_0206.JPG

I'm amazed at how thick the stock is near the bottom

Harvested the blue buckets yesterday

# 1 - I believe this one will have the largest yield...as the top cola is fairly dense
IMG_0232.JPG

IMG_0234.JPG

IMG_0235.JPG

#2 - a bit smaller than her sister
IMG_0218.JPG

I converted the grow tent into a dry tent.

Removed the two oscillating fans and the HPS & CMH lights
IMG_0239.JPG

I left the exhaust fan mounted but have turned it off.
I'm using a small 110 CFM bathroom fan instead (running it on-off every 15 minutes)

IMG_0242.JPG

here are the remains....I'll take some root porn pics once I remove them from the buckets

note how the one gallon stock (in the green bucket) is so much thicker than the others
#1 (upper right) is thicker than #2 (lower centre), hence another reason I think #1 will yield more than #2

IMG_0246.JPG

Just because I'm bored being isolated, I have started a new batch of seeds for my indoor sunshine grow

These are Crop King auto-fems ...four different strains

I have had a really bad success rate with these Crap King seeds, but we will see if any pop

IMG_0244.JPG

A little root porn for my buddy @WattSaver

The roots were nice and firm from the blue buckets, but not the case for the one gallon bucket (far right)

...its roots were not firm in the middle, and also the green slim that built up is not typical.... notice you can see where the drain hole was, never seen that before

the size on the stock is unreal, this is the biggest stock I've ever grown, but yet the yield of the plant will not be much

IMG_0250.JPG

I let the stocks hang in the dark tent until April 15th, then snipped the buds off and placed them into paper bags, then put into my cigar humidor to finish the dry process

Today I placed them into mason jars c/w a 62 % RH Boveda

This was a disappointing grow for me, as my yield was way down compared to previous years, as I have grown this Rick Hermie strain several times.

Example: My Winter 2018 grow included two of these Rick Hermie which were grown is lesser conditions but yielded 60% more volume.

I did use different nutes this round but yet I'm perplexed as to why....also this batch produced seeds for the first time, needles to say I won't be growing this strain again.

Plant #1 (blue bucket) 121 grams....Plant # 2 (blue bucket) yielded 83 grams..... Plant # 3 (one gallon bucket) yielded 55 grams
IMG_0346.JPG

this is the left-overs from plant #4 (2L pop bottle) which yielded only 36 grams
IMG_0351.JPG

nice healthy seeds....but these are just the few that feel out, I'm sure the buds will be loaded
IMG_0355.JPG

Anyhow...this is the end for this grow, I have started "My 2020 Indoor Sunshine Grow" .....link is on my signature

Cheers
