This is my second time to clone from a humidity dome that I wasn't to sure of, but to my surprise it did an excellent job on a test run with 3 cuttings. They are now under a 400 watt MH and growing strong. So now I decided to cut 11 clones and try it again. Now a friend of mine is telling me not to water the clones AT ALL!. So my question is does anyone water there clones because on my first attempt to clone, I watered the super plugs every 3 days and they successfully rooted in 8 days.

Should I water? Or should I just mist?

well, you need to ensure that your rooting medium doesn't dry up. so unless your medium is water, you kind of have to water it.
 
Am using super plugs they do tend to stay moist, but like I mentioned - on my last clones I gave them water every 3 days regardless. But yeah I should stick with what works... am just worried that my friend might be right, he says I got lucky that the clones rooted with the amount of water I was giving them.
 
i water my cubes at least once a day. with the heating pad under my dome, they dry up fairly quick. i occasionally mist them, but not often.
 
I don't have a heating pad, I been meaning to buy one so am just using the T5 25 watt light, and keeps the temps inside the dome a fairly 87 degrees. And it's funny -- because considering the amount of heat/humidity the plugs tend to stay moist. That's what worries me.. I feel that they still need water regardless of the plugs keeping moist due to the heat inside.
 
Also
If the clones start to show roots by the 8th or 10th day will it be okay to transplant them to soil and place under a 400 MH with there sisters? or do they need the whole month (like others mention) to adjust for the MH?
 
i got clones in a dome with the root plugs that are barely 36 hours old...only difference is i got a heat pad it was cheap only 25 bucks. im workin on keeping at least 90 percent humidity right now.

if you're not using a heating pad (especially this cold time of year) the temps. where the cubes are vs. where you have your gauge can vary greatly. that's prob. why the cubes aren't drying up, no fire down below... ahem, it doesn't take any time (a month???) to transition to an hid light. double up on the regular distance for a couple hours is all.
 
....put an extra rooter in there and treat it as you do the rest....when you can't squeeze a drop out of the empty rooter, it's time to water. I personally donot mist the clones using your technique, I only mist the dome....are you using a seedling heating pad? Good luck.
 
these are my first clones. im doing it by the book and according to my hydro shop guy, he roots his in the same conditions in 4 days. he says the heat pad is key. ill check for roots in a few days.
 
let me know if the heat pad gets your roots within a few days.
Am counting the days aswell......... last time it took 8 days with just the T5 light, so hopefully I see results again! I'll post pics soon as I see roots.

3 out of my 4 have so far. didnt do a whole lot to em they just took of them selves
