Could say 360 watts cuz of how many chips.when I first made it I was using 2 Xbox 360 power supplys one 203w the other 175w to power them. I didnt have a kill a watt then either. So i bought one and changed out the drivers when I had money. I did a test on the Xbox 360 power supplys and together ran about 270 watts. Man Im glad I got the new drivers so I can control the intensity. In all honesty this light Max potential is 440 wall watts. But it would run so inefficient and would be hot as fk lol. i do have 5 fans on the light now which is connected to the same drivers as the lights so If I run the lights higher, the fans worker harder at keeping cool. It pretty much does it's job.
, the 2 middle bars 16 chips are ran on 1 driver 150w driver
And the outside 2 are on a 180w driver. Both are suitable. As I never run em high. I'm driving about 280 watts right now. Will numb up more later in veg. To about 330 watts. Inside the room is 67f. Inside the box is 76f and 45%rh. Keeps it that much warmer. IMG_20180305_154911.jpg

For now, I was talking more along the lines of a 400w HPS with dimmable ballast. $100 for something that would out perform most small LED arrays.

If you have money for cob components, that would be a great choice too imo.

I paid $215 CAD ($165USD) which included shipping cost for a citi 1212 3500k 80cri approx kit from [email protected] that had a meanwell 240h 1400a with passive heatsinks and all the crap needed to get it up and running sitting about 165 lm/w. Made my own frame from aluminum swimming pool track that i had laying around so that was out the door price. The driver can run 250w but im only using 150w atm and its killing my lil 2x3 grow area.

My first ever grow...didnt have a scale so couldnt weight it but it was a bunch for a tiny lil 150watter. Will weigh this batch. I think ill crank out close to 2 gpw with my ghetto setup and bagseed lol

Hell yeah dude. . Yeah I'm up to middle class now with my diys lol. Think i spent 110 USD on the flower light with all the extra drivers. I got both for 20$ was such a steal cuz now they would be almost 20 each. My veg light cranks up to 165watts. I just switch out drivers when needed lol but spent about 50$ on that light. I do have a high end Cree and osram blurple if caught in a situation

I love the setup man. I just have medical needs like many and rely on a consistently high yield of clean meds to provide relief. I need to get 1lb per grow for family CBD lotion for grandmother, etc.

I rely on a higher output setup. One 600w HPS suits my needs well.

I would like to use LED once I can afford something adequately sized.

How much does the 150w yield dry, if you don't mind me asking? There was not 300g in that pic though, I am sorry to say. Did you check?

Yes a 4x4 is what I use. Was using 1000w but get similar results with six and happy with cost vs yield and quality is high because it can be lowered fairly close without excess heat compared to the 1000. The main reason to use a 1000w HID is for trees.

I had a few posts in grow journal but not into posting up all my stuff on websites.

Balanced nutrition and pH and rh airflow and temp are more important than light, so if it is all dialed in decently, you can get great yields with one 600w hps. Lots of growers can even break 1gpw !! Pretty damn good for a $130 setup.

Just curious about some real world examples of LED yields.

Meanwell drivers are so cheap and reliable, check em out for next build. What kind of COBS are those?

My bad, I meant i think i could potentially hit close to 2gpw with my current grow. I expect more like 250grams in the end if all goes well.

This is day 33 on a 11 week flower. Still has a lot of fattening up to do.

This is a clone from my last grow seen here with the mother just weeks from being done and all fatened up.

Last grow had at least 1gpw and its about half as small as current one, but again, im a noob, that was my first ever weed grow, and this is just a prediction as i talk out my ass due to still having very little grow experience under my belt with no grow history to back it up. I hope i can pull it off as i finally have a digi to scale it all when shes done. But there are others out there with LED who are killing it with gpw from what ive seen.

They are 12v 10 watt 3500k chips. I believe they are surface mounted diodes and not chips on board.. But what the hell is the difference:confused: I've heard of meanwell.. Someday my friend. Amazon is just easier for me to go through. I don't use cc or dc, except for my ladies at times and i always get aacquired Amazon points and what not. And get my stuff sooner. The drivers I have now are not bad. I mean like Im just doing some look the other way type of light. Something alternative than name brand. I'm just really surprised at what they do!
I want to some day run a 8x8 and build the fuck out of a light by year 2020.

Ledgardener.com is a legit source for info on DIY LED projects. Esp my fav..the lm561c strip builds...my next light...

Growmau5e on youtube has a bunch

Reddit microgrowery has some too

Even a few subs on this site where i did a lot of research. Learn how to read data sheets for LED and you will be set to do your own research and just check manufacturer sites for the most efficient lights currently and coming out.

Nice, love the DIYs. One day ill be growing a room full with some sweet DIY lights but for now im just trying to crank out most i can in my shitty lil grow area ha.

For the ones who need to see it to believe it, check this post. Dirt cheap LEDs and mass amounts of tree all DIY. Spent $75 to build. Lol

It's all in the grower skills and what not. I mean this is # 2 and 3 going into flower 20170813_121056-1.jpg under these cheap lights lol

#3 went hermie unfortunately and went outside to finish. It was late August then. # 1 b4 those other 2 had 16 cola branches20170812_192653.jpg these were all grown under the veg light, but I flipped this one first as it was 2 weeks older. I got over 3oz from this chopped early week 6, underwent alot of stress week 5 and hermied. But them other 2 resulted pretty good yields and beautiful buds

Nice setup u got there. Have you tried having lights closer? My COBs are like 6 inch from top colas. Lol...and no light stress so far.

I've had em closer b4. But I tend to get burn spots after I water usually on the leaves. SMH so annoying when writing else is green lol. The grow I have now is about 16" away. I was guns lower the intensity slightly and drop it to 12" but I was 2 mins late from lights out. Will try tomorrow after work

Maybe genetics has a lot to do with it. These COBS are at 100% intensity for flower after coming from a 65w veg CFL light , 6inch away with only 3 cobs in a 2x3 so more intense hearspots... I probably hardened these genes after all my mess-ups and noob parenting skills raising her so she can now endure anything after putting up with my bullshit. Lol. Best of luck with it.
