My Feelings On Illegal Immigration, Do They Make Me a Hypocrite?

. but how can I support something that I feel is wrong and detrimental to society? Am I supposed to bow my head and accept it? I have no problem at all with regulated immigration, just illegal immigration leaves a bad taste in my mouth... they drain our system.

They get welfare, free lunch at school, wic, food stamps... and if the dream act passes, a nice american college education. Shit they can even qualify for scholarships... its fucked up. but yet when I think of my friends, I get guilty for feeling the way I do. And I know they do the jobs that most people dont want to do, but honestly if you're in a situation where that is your only option, take the damn job and don't look down on the mexicans working with you. Basically this comes down to personal responsibility in my eyes. You know how many kids I went to school with thought that they should have it easier because they were mexican and "oppressed"?[/QUOTE]

let see all the people that are high school dropouts and dont attennd college or go to the military.
i rather have a illegal that works in the fields than a lazy bump with a SSL
it all depends on the individual them self's. there is hard working immigrants that learn English. and make a better future for them self and family's. and of course we got the lazy ones its not on immigration its on self responsibility on the self.

great point! lol i love the points you made
hey dude, your "people" roamed this land for centuries? mexicans didnt even exist until like the late 1500's. Native Americans arent even from America, they are asian emigrants from about 15,000 plus years ago... i fucking hate it when mexicans try to say that we stole something from them... it wasnt even theirs. it belonged to SPAIN.
most mexican people actually have native american ancestors. you can tell because theyre skin is dark and they have almost asian facial features. and who are you to say that mexicans expect something for nothing? there are alot of them where i live and they all seem to work pretty hard. alot of them clean horse shit and i dont see them complaining. they all have new clothes and cell phones, things that they wouldn't have back in mexico. and its not like theres no people in america who sit around on welfare all day. i would say most americans are lazier than mexicans. and the procedures for coming into america take a long time and are costly, it is faster and cheaper but very dangerous to hire a coyote [i think thats what theyre called?] if it wasnt that bad in mexico would they risk their lives and money to come here?

When one day white ppl in this country are a minority and you are washing dishes and cleaning laundry for a Mexican family mb someone will do something about it
Free education? I'm about to renounce my citizenship and become a Mexican so I can come back over the border and go back to school....for free this time

Theres nothing wrong with wanting illegal people out of our country. All they are is a drain on the economy. I say if your here illegally, you get sent back, no if's, ands, or buts. Im getting really tired of every job having to be bilingual. And every time I pick up a phone, "speeky spani?". Learn english damnit. They stand on the street corners where I live, 20 people deep just waiting for a truck to come by and pick up 11 of em. Theyre committing violent crimes and using up our states assistance resources, not paying taxes. I guess Obama needs his votes tho. And they will vote, regardless of citizenship, and it will count.

what annoys me is people who expect everything to be in spanish. i am sick of all the spanish messages on phones, the spanish interpreter in court, learn english if you're living in the USA!
i missed the memo that america had english as the official language

i see jobs that only hire people who are bilingual english/spanish. thats discrimination against english speakers as far as I am concerned.
or it could be a requirement of the function of the job.

i'm going to go apply for a job handling customers from germany. if they don't hire me, despite my complete lack of ability to speak german, i will sue for discrimination :cuss:

i wish i spoke spanish but unfortunately, i don't have any spanish speaking relatives and i didn't grow up around it so i don't know it. i am from the north, plus, my parents were of a stupid generation where they didn't realize the importance of a foreign language. i guess i could learn now but i can't afford to take a class.
i hear they have books at the library that can learn you some spanish.

I would prefer to learn other languages over spanish. i do think spanish would be useful, especially in CA but i don't think i will learn it. i speak some french which is nice but not too useful in the US.

let's just drop it. i don't think you should be fluent, just know a few basics. I can say a few things in spanish even though i have absolutely no raining. i have seen some people who don't know HELLO

I have only the following to say; Basic Human Rights. would you like anyone to starve, or not have a shelter to lay their tired head, to have respect for just living. contemplate these thing prior to making harsh assumptions and crude statements.

plenty of people don't have those things. go to any major city and look around. american citizens begging for money and living on piss covered street corners, eating out of the trash. that's typical here, i don't know where you live that you think there is a standard of basic human rights that should be met or exceedded.

like any good research paper, i need sources to verify information... and since you're providing statistics, you need sources to back it up
Just because you wrote it doesn't make it so.

Please document where you got this from and wiki isn't a real source.
how about the comptroller for the state of texas?

This is the first time any state has done a comprehensive financial analysis of the impact of undocumented immigrants on a state's budget and economy, looking at gross state product, revenues generated, taxes paid and the cost of state services.

The absence of the estimated 1.4 million undocumented immigrants in Texas in fiscal 2005 would have been a loss to our gross state product of $17.7 billion. Undocumented immigrants produced $1.58 billion in state revenues, which exceeded the $1.16 billion in state services they received.
you can find the study somewhere in pdf form. just google '2006 study texas comptroller' if you want to see the study.

That's the problem they don't want to go through the procedures to become citizens, hence they ae illegal immigrants. They don't want to learn english or buy real estate, they want to collect as much money as possible and send it back to Mexico,...
illegal immigrants are all from mexico?
