i mean id like 2 say that it does cus i mean the plants r doing great but i mean i dont have a plant to compare it to...that is under the same conditions but with and without co2. but i watched this video called mr greens i grow chronic and he says he uses regular co2 and uses seltzer water so i guess it helps....so ima keep it up unless i hear otherwise

so baking soda was a bad idea....i think it didnt dissolve all the way cus it clogged the pump and tubes of my one setup that had the pump still in it...but o well changed it out with the other pump and new tubes and jus cleaned out the other pump...not to mention our ph went from 6.6 to 8 in like 5 hours....so we just changed out both res'es again and decided to jus go the route we were going ....correcting the ph as needed this time were gonna keep up with it more than once a day.....do u think correcting ph more than once a day is a bad thing as long as we dont go outside of the .4 in 6 hours and 1.0 in 24 hours? and also i think we got some baking soda in our hydroton....next time we do a drain and replenish do yall think it would b a bad idea to spray them off with our sink sprayer...just to get all the nastyness off of them and whatnot or does that sound like a bad idea?

Man that sucks about the baking soda. I adjust my pH at least twice a day. This is fine to do as long as you don't adjust it by more than like .5 at one time. I would recommend rinsing out the left over baking soda because I feel like it could cause problems and I know it's ok to rinse out your growing medium because I have done that a couple times.

if you do rinse your hydroton it might be a good idea to use ph adjusted water

that tells me two problems, one, never put any powders in the tank, always dilute and disolve them first. Tons of growers safely use baking soda for pH control.
two, pump is still in?
A water pump can harbor dead debris, dead roots, mushy yukey stuff and crap that really screws up the pH. Give your water the sniff test to determine if the water pump is spoiling the water. It should smell like fresh cut iceberg lettuce or alfalfa sprouts, and not stink bad. Most all water pumps have a filter in them that needs cleaning after two weeks, or get the pump out of there after 3 weeks.

After the first two weeks, and then daily, your pH should and will climb from 6.0 to 7.0 in about 18 to 24 hours because the plants are eating the nutes and the water is going down, and becomes more acidity. If the water jumps from 6.0 to 8.0 in a day, or worst, in 8 hours, you have a serious problem, and 99% of the time it is dead debris, dead roots, dead pieces of roots or leaves in the water. And the water pump can hold and hide that crap. Get the filter in the water pump cleaned after two weeks, or after the roots are int he deep water, or get that water pump out and the pH will be more stable.

but o well changed it out with the other pump and new tubes and jus cleaned out the other pump...not to mention our ph went from 6.6 to 8 in like 5 hours....so we just changed out both res'es again and decided to jus go the route we were going ....correcting the ph as needed this time were gonna keep up with it more than once a day.....do u think correcting ph more than once a day is a bad thing as long as we dont go outside of the .4 in 6 hours and 1.0 in 24 hours?

I do from 7.4 to 6.4 in a day, and wait 4 hours and come back and move it down to 5.9 to 6.0 very often, and it is ok.
and also i think we got some baking soda in our hydroton....next time we do a drain and replenish do yall think it would b a bad idea to spray them off with our sink sprayer...just to get all the nastyness off of them and whatnot or does that sound like a bad idea?

It might spray too hard, jsut pour and rinse them with plain water. Leaving the baking soda is OK, I used it for two weeks once, when I was out of pH powder.

ighty thx rose very helpful....ya our right res....smells kinda rotten....and that is the one with the pump in it....we have to leave it in there for now cus there are 2 do of the plants that havent hit the water yet....thats the only reason that one is still in there do u think that we just need to pull it out and clean it thoroughly?....the other setup has 6 plants that have all hit the water so the pump is no longer in it.

yea, pull it out, clean it and put two level teaspoons of 3% peroxide per gallon of water back.

ight....cus heres the problem now.....the other nite we had one plant in our left res....that all the sudden was wilted as shit almost dead...and wasnt the smallest plant in the res....so we changed out the water and used less nutes and it came back outa no where.....now the same thing is happening in my right res to another one of the plants that is also not the smallest by far because in this res we have 2 plants that still have the feeder tubes because they havent hit the water...and those 2 small plants look fine...heres the pics wtf is going on. roseman help asap! PIC 3 and pic 6 is the one in the left res that almost died and is now coming back....pic 4 and pic 5 is the one that is all the sudden wilting in the past 3 hours

how do u overwater ina bubbleponics system? the res temps are low....but im not sure. havent checked it ima take my fishtank thermameter and look...but the wierd thing is none of the other plants are effected its just that one...and its not even the smallest plant its like the medium sized one of them all

The reason plants can be overwatered is because they do not get enough oxygen. This is possible in hydroponics if the temperatures are above 75 or if you do not have enough bubbles. Your plant might not be suffering from overwatering, but it's possible. What kind of airstone(s) and pump do you have running? Is the airstone positioned in the middle or is it far away from the plant that is suffering?

well heres the deal...the pump is a 250g and its only connected to 2 plants ....the small ones that havent hit the water and the one thats fucking up isnt one of those 2...and on top of that i havent had any problems with these plants before...im using 10 inch air stones....do of them on one air pump with a splitter theres tons of bubbles..and the rest of the plants are fine....what i did the other nite was change out the res when the shit started happening and then turned all the lights off for the nite till the MH turned on at 6 and then turned the cfls back on as well and it came back...its still not fully back but its deff fine now and now dying....this plant looks like its dying and the airstones were down each side of the res and stil was getting plenty bubbles i actually moved it closer just to make sure that wasnt the problem...im soo confused and the rest of plants in that res show alil bit of droopy ness but the airpump that is in that res is the same on thats in the other res...ph is fine the only thing i could think would a problem would b the temp because of the pump but if i turn the pump off then the 2 plants that need the pump wont b gettin any water...

Yeah that's weird. Idk what to tell you then, sorry. I'm not as experienced as Roseman or the other elite bubbleheads. Hopefully someone will swing by to help you out.
