I have 2 10" air stones with a 20-60 gallon pump. I have had no problems. Plenty of bubbles and with only 4 plants I can control the bubbles and consintrate them right under the plants.I am using 5" net pots. From what I have read on the autoflowers I should have plenty of space for 4 of them. The Jock Horror's grow like a pine tree and the Bubblelisious branch but very little. I guess I should expect 1-2 OZ per plant so the yield is small they are ready between 8 and 11 weeks.though i know a buddy who uses 2 airstones with a 2 outlet dual diaphragm pump on a 20 gallon DWC and he doesn't have any problems.
run both just run a hose from the pump to above the waterline and have a waterfallI have only done DWC once and it failed, well ok I failed. Wondering if a water pump would be way better than an air-stone to get DO levels up? Bubbles are not a very efficient way to introduce DO.
Thats kinda what I meant, well exactly what I meant lol. All my res's have a branch line that does just that and have never added air.run both just run a hose from the pump to above the waterline and have a waterfall
also for 5 gallon DWC u can use 1 airstone but anything over 10 your gonna want 2 airstones, over 15 you'll want atleast 3. and at 30 your gonna need more like 5.
USE A SMALL SUBMERSIBLE WATER PUMP TO AGITATE THE SURFACE AREA OF THE WATER! IT ADDS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE D.O. THAN AIR-STONESI have only done DWC once and it failed, well ok I failed. NO THEY REALLY DON'T!the air stones work great!
Interesting. I think I've heard that some time in the past too.USE A SMALL SUBMERSIBLE WATER PUMP TO AGITATE THE SURFACE AREA OF THE WATER! IT ADDS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE D.O. THAN AIR-STONES

bottom pointed up works.... I have one that has suction cups and I stick it to the side so the outflow "skims" the water surface.... no air pump required!Interesting. I think I've heard that some time in the past too.
Would a cheap 70 gph water pump work alright for say a 30 gallon tote? Do you just leave it as is (out of the box) at the bottom or run with a riser?
flooming is a little different than undercurrent.... But props to you sir! Fuck those annoying air pumps!I've ran air for for the first while but it really seemed to mess with my ph so I stopped. Besides the air stones kept plugging up. The flooming works well for my setups. My last system was setup so the plants were basically in a 6" deep fast flowing river 24/7 and I had spectacular results for the most part.
I know flooming is different and I floom in the main res as well as upper tray by basically using a water fountain type action in both. Lots if water flowing as well. Works great but I have niw switched to spray nozzles as well as water fountain in res.flooming is a little different than undercurrent.... But props to you sir! Fuck those annoying air pumps!
