My First Grow - CFL 3 days from flower

That sucks man, wonder why the cord burn up on you, you wouldn't think 3 comp fans would do that even with the cheapest of cords....did you splice anything together? CHeck your connections good cause that's scary!

Nope no splicing, just plugged in directly, no burns, no smoke, just a piece of shit cable with a piece of shit circuit. It has 2 replaceable circuits on it, one of them blew. I'm pretty handy when it comes to electrical work and building shit in general but this kind of thing you cant exactly watch out for. I wanted to replace it just because of its general purpose but it hadn't given me any problems so I didn't think using it was such a bad Idea. The things are made with 12 outlets for setting up all of your electrical Christmas decorations, just a fluke I suppose.

Damn freebird sorry for the mishap...it really sucks since I was kind of tracking my progress against yours since your like a week or two ahead of me...that sucks dude...at least now you have the extra experience lessons well learned

Definitely learned my lesson, I've learned a lot from this grow. I'm definitely going to do some revamping to my main box when I take her outa there. You should post some pics of your lady! I'd love to see em.
She is still growing, just fattening up a bit. I'm really surprised to see growth, still looks like shit though lol. I chopped off the tip tops that were scorched and smoked em, got me high just like the bud I got it from, a pretty strong head high, but it only lasted for about 30 minutes or so.
I planted the 3 other Maui seeds and 2 have sprouted.. the random seed I found started germinating so I'm going to plant it in the morning and the Grape Fruit seed still hasn't opened up but its splitting more on the outside, I guess the seal is a bit to tight for it to open up the way its supposed to lol. If it doesn't open up by tomorrow I'll probably just plant it and see what happens.
I have them under 4 26w 6500k CFL's on 24 hrs, I'll keep them on for 24 hrs for 5 days and then 18/4 for 5 days then into flowering. When I finally chop down the abused Maui I'll transplant the others into 1qt pots and transfer them into my bigger box.

Well, the damage looks manageable. Certainly it's not going to be up to full potential, but it's looking like you'll still get some sorta yield off her. And congrats on the beans, bro, I've got some a couple weeks ahead of yours...keep up the good work! (and no more budget electrical gear)

lol most def, I just got promoted! So I'm moving from hourly, around $900 a month, to salary $2400 a month so I'll be building the box I've designed pretty soon and I'll be able to afford not to ghetto rig anything lol. And yeah the tops got the most damage so they wont be NEARLY as fat as they could have been but at least I'll get some smoke out of her. She looks like she is going to finish in about 2 weeks, about 25% of the trichs are amber already.
I'm pretty excited about the beans, I should be able to treat them right *crosses fingers* but I will be putting in almost twice as many hours at work as I was before so I cant be home as much as I would like. Looks like I may be training my girlfriend to become a gardener lol.
Anyways thanks man, you should post your pics up here from time to time for comparisons!

Hey theoldmerchant, glad I could help out.. I hope you learned something off of my mistakes I know I have.
Here are some pics of the little ones. The grapefruit hasn't sprouted and I'm assuming that it wont considering the germination process but all of the rest have sprouted. One of the Maui's is not going to make it, not sure what exactly went wrong there but it sprouted with a dead top and has been slowly dieing all the way down the stock for the past 3 days. But anyways I got 3 good ones out of it so far, 2 Maui's and the 1 random seed. Have a look!
I'll mark them later and let you know which is which, right now I just have them marked with straws lol

I just put 3 beans into soil today, still waiting for a 4th to pop, but me might have little ones very close to the same age if everything goes well.
