I know there’s a total other thread for this but me being a newbie I thought it would be more suited to post in the newbie central category.

First off I’ll be using 4 different seed strains. Frosted biscotti from Sin city genetics, Brr berry og x strawnana from Purple city genetics, end game (purple line) and banana hammock from Ethos genetics. I planted 16 total seeds straight into the medium. Hopefully I have 12 suitable plants to split into 3 different 4x4 tents. The light of choice for veg is sf4000. The light of choice for my flower tents are sf7000s. The medium that was available at the given time was fox farms strawberry fields. I know it isn’t good for seedlings. It’s better off for flowering but it’s all my hydroponics store had at the moment but when I transfer from the solo cups to 3 gallon fabric pots I’ll be using fox farms ocean forest. Currently tho it’s 50% strawberry fields 25% ewc 25% perlite.

as of day 6 I have 12 to fully pop, 3 pop but struggling, and 1 that didn’t pop at all. Humidity staying around 60-65% and temp around 75-78°F with a heating pad underneath. Light is 30 inches from the plants while boosted to 20% power. My plant elevating stands, run off pans, and fans were on back order an will arrive tomorrow. All water is ph to 6.3-6.5. They get a mist out of a spray bottle daily. Not quite sure when I should start watering them. I guess I’ll start doing so when the medium gets more dry more often.

Current plans. I will be doing some training on these when they are ready. Will top them, lst, defoliate and lollipop. Prob a few me that I’ve forgot about idk. When I transfer them into the flowering tents I will be in 5 or 7 gallon pots. Idk which ones yet. After being in the flower tents I plan on vegging for a little bit longer so I can use my trellis net and fill out my canopy. As of rn all I have is one shot from nectar of the gods. The dude at the hydro store said it would be great but honestly I’ll prob go ahead and get Gaia green 444 and 284 before next transfer. Will be using dry amendments as my nutes cause I’m new and it’s easier to just add water for me. I’ve been reading a lot about how I can feed my plants and there’s so much out there it’s hard to make choices.

As you see my set up is similar to the YouTuber mr.Canuck with a few exceptions. I’m here and willing to learn. I will take all feed back you can give me wether it’s helpful criticism or hate. Doesn’t really matter. Not gonna hurt my feelings one bit cause if you can help me you are helping me learn. Thanks for reading my post and I hope you all check in to see my progress. Let’s grow some stupid Zaaaaa.

Fox Farms isn't good for anything imo but looking good.

Welcome to RIU have fun with it. That is a lot of plants for such a small space if you ask me. Do you plan to throw out certain plants or try growing all 16 in that tent?

I'm long done with "boosters" and supplements. Liquid nutes are an expensive pain in the ass. Save yourself some $ & trouble with Jack's 321 nutes, Recharge for bennie microbes, & maybe some BTI larvicide for fungus gnat prevention. Very important - don't leave out silica for strong stalks & hardiness against bugs & mold. Silica is the one thing that makes a very noticeable difference. I also dust the inside tent perimeter & the pots with diatomaceous earth for bug prevention. The lights out today are all full spectrum so there shouldn't be a need to transfer plants IMO.

Again, IMO headaches are fewer & money is better spent on preventing the pests & molds that devour crops than trying to make bigger yields through supplements. As a grower, over time one begins to appreciate quality over yields.

I'm using a 4 X 4 & just went from 4 plants to 6 to fill the canopy faster with less training. I got 25 oz of White Runtz from 4 plants on my last run in a 4 X 4 area so with 3 tents so I think you will be very busy.

Welcome to the tribe & good luck!

Also, search for Dr. Bugbee (Apogee Instruments) on YouTube. He's a renowned plant scientist working with marijuana for the past few years.

Day 11. 12 plants. The berry og X Strawnana from purple city genetics are being held up after one fell over. All of them have thin and light green stems vs the thicker and darker green of the other strains. I originally thought it could be damping off from over watering. I water them all the same but it seems like the purple city seeds are having issues. Idk if it’s genetics or they’re not liking the watering. The one that fell over is now curling and drying up on the leafs but with the support moved it stands by it self now. Will keep it supported for now. Really hope to finish with 12 plants but if some die off then I’ll have to veg longer to get the desired final weight. Btw I did fill in the solo cups about a inch with ewc instead of the regular made medium cause I read that it will help prevent damping off more. Don’t know if it’s true or not but I’m not seeing the fungus nets anymore.8D6ED4CC-BE60-4E0F-9E7A-5F76D3DE2EF1.jpeg4810902C-1953-41E4-95B6-DB12081AE1AE.jpeg

Looking good just a suggestion would be to put small holes around the solo cups so they get more oxygen to the roots, the soil dries abit faster and having that piece of mind you are not going to have watering issues.

Your plants need very little water at this stage...over watering is the worst thing u can do right now. I slowed my first grow bad with overwatering at that stage. Spray mist if surface feels dry, and water lightly only when cup feels very light. Plants recover very quickly from under watering, but recover very slow from over watering

Well after learning the hard way with watering, i only water when the container is very light to the touch. When my new seedlings were small, it was like once a week. With a light spray of surface dirt as needed to maintain moisture.

Day 23
My first leafs on the bottom are spotting, turning yellow and starting to crumble. All leaves above are fine and show they are healthy.

transplanted into 3 gallon fabric pots.
sf4000 at 50% 30 inches away
Did not feed with one shot from nectar of the gods this transplant. Will wait till they’re hungry again and use Gaia green 444 top dress.
50% fox farms strawberry fields, 25% perlite, 25% ewc.
did add mycorrhizae to the root system.
I Was advised to transplant but when I removed them from the cups it didn’t really look like they was ready. Could’ve went another week or two i think but it’s fine.
I felt like I shocked the root system when transplanting. Felt like I was really rough with them cause I’m new and couldn’t get them out of the cup properly lol.
Lightly watered and will give it a good watering tomorrow with silica then wait for soil to dry before watering again187ADE2D-76D7-4282-96F2-DF792464A21A.jpeg7866C9D9-DDCC-439C-B703-CDFEC1BC3428.jpeg2379E16F-1DB4-4D4B-8010-750C9986A23C.jpeg4A90DB60-05B9-424B-BD6A-057B3D2332E2.jpeg

Day 46 of veg. I topped dressed with Gaia green 444 2 weeks ago. Sf4000 at 60%. They got their first top 1 week ago. I’ve been doing some pruning some of the big fan leafs. Just tied them down as well.
I think my plants are very small for day 46. Don’t you think?? EC6EFE07-C9F6-4B26-8B16-59C8B66C3266.jpegBC8A495D-DBEB-4076-9A66-087E0851F7C7.jpeg
