My First Journal: 1000w JillyBean Scrog

Thank you so much all. Learning to grow has been so much fun, i swear i have been on RIU for the past year solid, just reading. And i still cant stop because theres so much more to learn from everyone. I know i am a full on scrog addict, and i plan i starting some seeds at the first of this year to do an outdoor scrog this spring. Got lucky enough to get some TGA Timewreck, which i feel will be the perfect PNW outdoor scrog genes. Grow on friends!
 
Heres a few shots of my new ladies room. Its my first tent of what will be a 6 tent perpetual. Just gunna take me a while to save for each one. Anyway, they will be one plant hydro units, but this time i had more small soil ladies, so 4 of them went in it. I know its not ideal to mix strains in one scrog, but i think i can do it just this once, and it'll be like a buffet. lol. Anyway, this is where my 400w cmh went. Tent is the GL80, which is 2'7" x 2'7" x 5'11" tall. Got no glass on the hood, so i got a 400cfm fan pulling from the top out. Going to add a can filler to it soon as well. Anywhoo.....

So here she is at day 27 of flower... Shes already getting frosty and she smells like a mix of super dank candy and an overall funk thats hard to pinpoint. Same as last time. Its odd, because when i was growing the 3 phenos i got last time, this one had the best smell growing, but ended up curing to be the least smelly good... I was forced to take them at 7.5 weeks last time, so im hoping this time, with 8.5 weeks her full cured flavor and smell will stay with her. Pics!!!

Looking great! Nice and healthy and super even canopy - aside from that hero top in the back that's fighting against the rest :)

haha, yap shes still got that one. it just had nowhere else to go on that end. Thanks for the kind words.
 
So i was thinking: I was running my 1000w hps over this lady, with no glass on the hood, at about 18"-20" above the canopy. then i realized if i put the glass on, i can get it about 12"-15"-ish over them, and still be in ideal temps. But i know the glass filters some of the light. So my questions is...
Which way is better? 6" closer with glass, or 6" farther with no glass?
 
I would say no glass as you are still in ideal range even at 20" above the canopy I read somewhere that glass actually deters light in all kinds of directions but that was in reference to a cool tube so not 100% on that looks nice though going to be colas everywhere!
 
Dude, if your pimpin 1000Wattts, does glass or even a few inches closer really matter? I mean dayam if you was pumpin 400watts like me then I'd debate the issue with you but, 1000WATTS, Cmon! :?: :bigjoint: :?:

Ya i hear you guys. Well ive had it with glass on and closer for a few days... And i dont know, i think i just like it better without it. So ima probably take it back off and up just a bit.
