Cool beans man. I love it when a plan comes together. I know that you are pondering your bulk mix recipe. Especially since you have your horse patties.

I would give them another 2 or 3 days before shaking them up, should be ready by sunday. And Congrats on 7/7!

Why? why wait? Looks like critical mass to me, that means that the next shake will head straight into full colonization, no point is waiting for that.

Shook the ones that were doing the best. A PE, a GT and a Hawaiian. The other 4 are a little behind, but only by a day or two I'd guess. I'll shake them tomorrow or monday. Thanks for the help batcave!

I always wait until 25% to 35% before I shake my jars, always worked well for me.

Well of course it works, but it will be slower, it is always surprising how the mycelium manages even in very small amounts to spread all around the grain. I usually do my first shake at around 2 percent and then again at 20 or so, that is usually the last time I need to shake them at all.

orient jars so the uncolonised bits are pointing to the top.
No need on a few. The PE's I shook yesterday morning are already 80% colonized today, amazing! 2-3 days should be ready to spawn. The GT and Hawaiian aren't far behind. My TC's are the slow ones of the pack, look to be behind a day, possibly 2.

Soon you will have alot of mushrooms around, and not enough time to eat them. This is funny with the boomers. You work hard for a day. You sit for a week. You work hard for a day. You sit for a week. That's kinda the cycle. Funny.

Pasteurizing the poo/coco/verm/gypsum now. Did about 50/20/20/10. Plan to pasteurize for 90 mins 140-160 then we'll be layering it with spawn in 8x8 baking trays later. Finally cover with foil, poke 3-4 small holes and then let colonize for ~1 week.

Still haven't decided if we are gonna case, gonna see how full the trays are with what we got first, if we have a gap we may case to fill it.

I've always looked for a volunteer to eat a jar like that (I don't like fresh mushrooms, fuck I can barely get dried ones down), so I can't realy try myself.

I would case with a thin layer of sterile verm, just to keep dust off and its also good at holding moisture creating nice zones around itself.

2 trays of PE and 2 trays of Hawaiian colonizing now. 5-7 days should be ready to open and put in the martha we setup. Next up will be 2 more Hawaiian, and 2 TC. Finally we will do 2 TC and 2 GT. All and all 12 8x8 trays in 2 tents.

Yea for sure, need to pull back on the reins... gonna have more spawn then I know what to do with. Ahhh what the hell worse case I could always dig a small hole outside and bury the spawn... then go hunting in the fall to see if anything fruits.

Sounds like a plan.

Well, not counting my chikens yet, but no contams in any of the 6 g2g and the myc is taking the hell off. Like 20% in some already. These will be ready in 4-5 days total time, amazing! PS Keep your jars in your grow room in a empty closet, they love it in there. Constant 80f and tons of O2 from the ladies.

Well now, don't forget that colonizing mycelium like plenty of Co2, all the way up to 10,000 ppm.
