No, actually less. See the first bud? Really hairy because the hairs haven't receded yet. See the last one? It's probably a top "cola" bud, and it is a bit farther along. It doesn't look as "hairy" since those hairs have begun to recede into the calyx, which have started to swell. This is what I'm looking for when judging if a bud is ready. Some strains have some white hairs to the very end but they shouldn't be quite as fluffy as the bud in the first pic. That's my preference, anyway.

i only done 9 grows. still learning.. the thing that always scares the shit out of me is going too long and hermieing due to stress.

it wouldn't matter at that stage - but you are definitely sacrificing weight each time you chop early for a maybe herm scenario. @cindysid is giving you good advice.

If they go hermie when you wait too long it doesn't matter. Seeds won't have time to form and if you save those 'nanners you can use that pollen to get fem seeds off of other plants.

I chop when the hairs are almost all red and the trichs are 50/50 clear/cloudy and maybe a few amber. Peak THC is what I want. I make sure the calyxes are all fat and the trich heads are as swollen as they are going to get. Amber is THC breaking down to CBN and tho it is medicinal it's not as medicinal as THC.
