Alaskans get the Permanent Fund Dividend every year. This coming year it's projected to be around $1,800 per person. And there is no state taxes here. The cost of food, gas and housing is about the same as Cali, depending on what part. I lived near Fresno (Oakhurst) and the COL was not nearly as bad as L.A. or the bay area. But then, I live in "Los Anchorage" (snicker snicker), the cheapest place in the state to live. Anchorage has a population of about 300,000; that's over half the state's population. Alaska is 2.3 times the size of Texas; that's roughly a mile per person.
I didn't do a grow here this year because I didn't think MJ would go into flower until 12/12, which is still a few weeks away. By then there may be snow flying. I Just found out yesterday that somehow this miraculous, beautiful plant *will* switch into the flowering cycle in time to beat the snow! That sure would have been nice to know back in April; I could have had fucking monster bushes up here by now. BTW, the best pot I've ever had came from here, MTF; it's legendary and very deserving of the legend; two hits and you're seeing God.
