AHH, what do you want to see? A pic of the lights above the plants? Dude, im telling you they are about an inch. I cant get a straight foward pic of the lights above the plants because of the box they are in. I have to hold it down in there and take a pic without seeing what im actually taking a pic of. But here...you can kinda see them. This is the best i can do as far as showing the lights above the plants. You just have to take my word for it, they are about an inch above the plants. I dont know how else to say it. Sorry. But what do you think about those yellowing spots? You have any idea what that is? I dotn want that to happen to my real grow.

haha, lets dont get hung up on this now. we just got over the other thing. all i wanted to know was if its cool to have them that close. you told me you grew yours that well that close as did HoLE. So i moved mine closer. Thanks guys. I thought it was heat stress or something. Now i know they just love the light. Heat stress looks a little different cause i did see that the first day we put our plants under that hps before we got that air cooled hood. It was funny, the temp shot up to 110 in like 10min and those things looked dead. We quickly fixed that. Anyways, thanks for the help. I got them as close as they can get without actually touching the light.

To give you a better idea, you can slide 2 cd cases between the tallest part of the plant and the bottom of the light almost perfectly.

Thanks for the pics, looking good, however I recommend painting the inside of that box white, that will help with growth and for the yellow or discoloration spots on leaves, looks to me like you dropped some water on them during feeding.

Be careful when watering not to get any water on the leaves of the plants, specially with the lights that close, what I do is take a soft tissue and dry off any leaves that I may get wet, it happens to me a lot.

See, thats what i thought it was too. But no water has been spilled on them. I water with a water bottle and lift the leaves up. There is no way water got on them. You can see water damage on some of the leaves in the other grow room. You can tell water splash. It kinda looks washed out at first, then its a yellowing effect. This is only affecting the outside of the leaves. But its not on the new growth so im not sure what it is. Other than that the plants look pretty good i guess. Remember, these were taken out of 2 of the pots in the real grow i got going on. It didnt do any damage to the other plants in the pots. However, iwouldnt try that again this far along. I just did that to see what would happen. One of the perks of having so many plants i guess. Wouldnt it be some shit if all 30 something turned out to be females somehow! I guess that would be what you call a double edge sword. I know that wont happen though. Im hoping for 10-15 females. The seeds were placed in bags with ripening banana peels for about 2 weeks before germing so that might have helped, i guess we'll find out. And no, i didnt just make that up, i seen it in an article jorge cervantes wrote. I figure i can trust what he says

2wks from germination. And check out the purple stems everyone is talking about. I dont think its a good or bad thing...it just happens. It took them 3 days in a paper towel, then 2 in the soil. The first pic is the 2nd day after they had sprouted. They were under 2 flo's and the temp was around 75 and humidity was 50-55. The other pics are 12 days after the first. They are in a 4x4x8 with a 1000w HPS, air cooled hood with 6" vortex for exhaust and passive intake. They are in Foxfarm Ocean and using Earth Juice Grow and Catalyst. We also have 2 fans, a small heater for cold nights, and a humidifier. So, what do you think?

Edit: there are so many because they were bag seeds. Half will probably be male, then out of whats left we will select the 10-14 best, most healthy females.

yeh manyou need to surround with light. the more the better. the cfls are cheap at meijers with relfectors and also get some of the 8 and 12 in cfls from wall mart. you can, i did. kept ALL my light 2" from the plants. A light tight closet and panda film did it for me. You feed em right and not too much, good medium(air) and LOTS of air movement. had fans on mine always. stalk is nice and strong. Yours will grow like wild fire soon as long as they have what they need. This is my first plant ever so it may not be as good as we think. I'll post pics and keep you posted.

Fatal, I was thinking about the water or yellowing spots, sometimes small plants/sprouts sustain tiny amount of damage at an early sage witch is less noticeable and or was forgotten about and when they get older or bigger it then becomes more noticeable, I wouldn't worry about it if it's not spreading and like you stated it's not showing on the new growth.

Thanks earlymorninstone....i guess? I dotn really understnad what you are talking about. The quote you have in your post is like one of my first post. I dont know if you looked at the pics or not, but i have a 1000w hps. Thats plenty of light If you are talking about my cfl grow, i only have 6 in a 2x1x2 1/2...something like that. Its the box my flat screen come in, very very stealthy. Check out my gallery, on the right side of this post it says gallery, just click that number and check out the pics. Thats my cfl grow. I might add a few more lights the next go around if i do it again. This was kinda thrown together overnight to see if i could grow the 2 plants we removed from 2 pots in the big grow. And as you see, they did fine. They are really really taking off now. About day 7 or 8 since i removed them from my other grow. It didnt damage the other plants in the pots they were in at all. I wouldnt suggest doing this however and i defiantely wouldnt do it this late into the grow. Anyways, good luck with everything and thanks for the suggestions! I really really need them guys. Now that we finally got over that whole pot thing im actually starting to get some good advice and tips. Oh Humboldt, you're right. I think it might have been a problem from when they were seeds thats just now starting to grow. I read an article in high times just last night that said something about novice growers see something happening and think they have done something wrong when really its an old problem just starting to show. It can take like 4 weeks for a problem to really start showing itself. Thats why alot of new growers fuck up. They see something like that happening and rush to give it tons of nutes or leach the soil, when really they are doing just fine. Pay attention to new growth i say.

CFL growers unite!!

YAY!!!! I received my Silver Pearl seeds from Nirvana today. Ordered them through Seedboutique.com. They also threw in the indoor variety pack. Im still waitin on my Jock Horror to arrive which we ordered from nirvana-shop.com. I got an email on 10/26 saying they were shipped out so they should be here soon. Then the real fun starts! woot woot!! Althouughhhh, most of these plants we have growing now came from different bags of some killer shit. It was regs or even mids. Its what most would call kind bud or whatever. You know, stuff that is 60-70 an 1/8. Well, my boss' next door neighbor sales and use to grow and had those still so he gave them to us. For all i know, these are some top notch shit I guess we'll find out.

Heh, im not really a cfl grower. I have a hps setup but at my house i have cfls. So far so good, im really liking what they can do. When these are done im going to get some more cfls and a little better setup. At my boss' house, where we have the real grow going, we have a 1000w hps, fans, air cooled hood with a 6" inline fan, humidifier, heater, etc etc etc. Thats where all the action happens.

yeah man sorry, i hadn't seen your pics yet. AND I'M actin like i know something !!!! Still trying to navigate in here but getting better. Mine also started from scratch, a couple cfl's .....not the screw in kind, the tubes with reflectors, some bagseed and an ounce of inspiration. Now its an all out passion. Spend almost aaaaallllll my off time with my plants. Thank thr ganja gods for leding me here. 1st "good" site like it i've found. Too much bs at the others.

HOORAHH!! Some of my plants are showing preflowers. Little balls right at the stipules. Its only on a few of them and its too soon to tell if they are male or female preflowers since males tend to show first. Gonna give them a few mroe days to look for the white hairs. And if i miss them i can always wait til they really flower. But i think i can get those sons of bitches outta there pretty soon I didnt get to get any pics today cause i forgot my camera, but ill try to get some tomorrow. These things grow so much every day, its insane!! I dont think my cam will get a close enough pic to show the preflowers but ill try. Oh, and i switched my cfl grow to 12/12 this morning so those should be showing soon. Wish me luck on finding the males by looking at preflowers. Shouldnt be too hard. And thanks Dalamar. Thats a fine looking ball of hash!

What's up bro? Speaking of pictures...oh boy. I bought these two bad boys. They will be here this coming Monday. I should get some great shots of the trichromes when they are ready. Holy shit man. Why do you spend so much money? Thats like 1300 bucks on a camera just to take pics of some weed? I mean the lens alone is 500 bucks. Do you know what i could do with 500 bucks? And i know thats why you bought it, just for bud pics. I dont know how you are doing it, but you are luckier man than i am to have money to throw away like that. I guess if it makes you happy, whatever. I just cant imagine spending money left and right like that. Guess thats just me How about instead of buying all of these gadgets every day, why dont you just pay that rent for a few months and let me come up there? You know you could buy a $10 magnifying glass and get just as good pics? Most of the really close shots you see around here are just magnified either with a magnifier right in front of the lense, or photoshoped to get closer.

Thank you so much Humboldt. These pictures are awesome. I seen them the other day and thats what helped me find them. Right now they look just like the male preflower. But since males usually show first, and male and female look the same until the little pussy hairs show. Im gonna give them maybe another 10 days maybe to show. We are switching over to 12/12 in about 15 days so ill know for sure then Thanks for the pic, and keep me informed on that male. Im pretty confident it wont come back. I mean, mine didnt. And i actually looked pretty damn hard yesterday and i couldnt find the pot we took cut them in. Once you cut it off right below soil level, just roll it between your fingers enough to kinda damage it. Then cover it up with dirt and they you have it, no more male Well, it worked for me anyways. Oh, you wouldnt happen to have pics you took yourself of preflowers? I noticed those are from erowid. Also, after they first starting showing preflowers, how long did it take for the females to start getting little hairs?

My plants started showing sex around 9 weeks, also I have lots of pictures of my preflowers, girls & boys, I'm trying to post as much as possible in my journal to help the freshy, just scroll through the pages of my journal you can't miss them.


H A P P Y ~ H A L L O W E E N !

Ok, heres some more pics for your view pleasure. It is day 29 from seed. We added another humidifier so now the humidity stays in the 50s and the leaves do not droop any more. These pics were taken about 2 hours after the lights went off so there is a little bit of droopage Showing preflowers, but not enough to distinguish. Gonna start flowering on monday, so we'll know soon enough. So, whatcha think?
