My plants are p*ssy's!

Plants are 5 weeks old. Plan was to start them indoors and then transplant outdoors when weather was right (now!). Started to leave them outside when I went to work. First day there was some wind and rain nothing major, and when I got home most of the plants had been uprooted and were laying next to their pots. The rest were just basically leafless and lying over. Brought them inside and 5 out of 10 came back strong. Yesterday was a beautiful day so I took the remaining ones and left them on the porch when I went to work. Came home and they were again either uprooted or just plain ravaged with no leaves or wilted leaves. Why is this happening? Both times they have been left next to tomato plants the same age with the living in the same exact environment. Tomato plants look like nothing happened. WTF. Please help I'm new to this.

almost sounds like a cat got into them or something. any claw/tooth marks?

hm, guess that doesnt explain the sorry looking ones with leaves.

man, those are some of the saddest 5 week old plants i've ever seen, I say chuck em and start over, grow indoors all the way, or at least until your plants are established and vigorous, which those are not. they probably cant take a full day of real sunshine at this point.

one major problem is since your growing half indoors and half outdoors they look MAAADD stretched which prbly puts alot of stress when moved outside to a windy enviroment....that would delfy uproot them and kill them quickly

what TMB77 said....just start over from scratch and weight till they get pretty hardy...thats exactly what i did and my plants are doin GREAT....happy token

wait till they look @ least like this to put them outside

a months and a halfs worth of veg and they should look like this. I also took out 2 of the 6 plants

I agree they are super stretched which is a big issue. Any idea what the reason for that might be? If I have to scrap them I should at least learn from this right? After 5 weeks the stems are stretched and the leaves are no bigger then an inch on any of them. Nice healthy green color though before I took them out into the elements. Really appreciate the help everyone...

I have had problems with woodchucks digging up my plants. Could be the culpret for you also. Just a guess

well, without knowing anything about you or how you grow, i'm going to say you overwatered, or maybe used some soil that holds way too much water. or maybe both.
too little light too far away while indoors. not sure what else.

i would be willing to say that you didnt get enough light where ever they werent getting it. And how far away was the light was it when it was inside?
those I showed you are in direct sunlight for half the day.

Inside they are on the edge of a south facing window. Decent amount of light, but maybe not the greatest. I usually get home by around 7 and then run 2 48" flouro's about 2 inches above the plants for 3 hours. Because they were intended to go outdoors I wanted to mimic the outdoor environment rather than running lights for 24 hours on them and then moving them outdoors. Was I on the right track or was that just dumb?

that window isnt providing enough light, just keep them under the fluro's untill they get big enough to put out and harden off into full sun.

ummm what the hell are those things? like SERIOUSLY??? Don't you read up or look at other plants and see that plants half the age of yours look more vibrant and healthy?? I don't get how anyone could possibly think they would get anywhere with something looking like that after 5 weeks and keep continuing to grow??!?!? jeeeeeez

TrialandError why do people think that shooting people down on a thread when they come for help makes them feel better I think is probably the better question here. Maybe you missed the day back in grade school when the teacher said "If you don't have anything nice to say STFU!!!" Thanks to everyone else for their constructive thoughts.

what he's pointing out is that it seems you've done no research on your own. you've not read the grow FAQ, you dont seem to have any idea how to grow at all judging from those plants. and that isnt a bad thing, but you need to do some research before trying to figure out why these plants which have obviously not been given much of what they need are failing so utterly.

I'd recommend starting again, but doing it right. read up man, there is a wealth of knowledge out there from germinating seeds all the way through curing the best buds.

thanks for putting it nicely for me...sry Lama, didn't mean to be a dickhead but its true, you need to read read read. I spend countless hours hording the forums and reading as much as possible..so much that my GF calls me obsessed..

dude....light light light. you need to put them little fuckers under your lights for 24/0 till they get stronger...,dont throw your plants away...you can probably save them...just get em under lights NOW! and take the straws off. The plants are gonna get bigger than the straws and you are gonna have some serious issues with stem growth homie.

Definitely a humbling experience and clearly I have a ton to learn. Have been glued to this forum all weekend. Pretty amazing knowledge base. I moved the remaining few outdoors and buried them 1 inch below their first set of leaves. Mother Nature will decide their fate. I am also placing an order for some PPP tomorrow and as it's too late to think about outdoor at this point I will be starting my first real indoor with REAL lights. Anyone who has a good link to info on growing good sativa strains indoors please send it my way. I have found some through searching, but could use more. My brain hurts.
