Hey guys time for another video. This one was quickly thrown together cause I'm on my way out the door to go to the lake for a few days, and tomorrow we're going to see DMB at montage!!! I can not wait!!!
Anyway, the wannabe dude plant diesn't look like he's gonna make it. I'm leaving him along til he shows real balls or dies whichever comes first. The thing that I don't understand is why would one plant be dying and the other flourishing??? They're in the same tub, fed the same, same light, same everything. The only thing I could think of is root competition but I DO have a plastic bag dividing the tub in half. Any ideas??

One of those looks like a sativa and one looks like an indica (or something else anyway), if they are two different plants, they will react differently to different conditions, ie heat, nutes. water, stress in general.

damn mk, you really have got the most out of the grow space. you did a great job utilizing it to its full potential. nice work

Those roots will eat right through a plastic bag if they push hard enough, i think....
WRONG! Gardeners use plastic sheeting to isolate gardens for a reason, roots don't push through plastic. They'll push through just about any hole, but assuming the bag is intact, roots should be separate

RIGHT! It was my guess while watching the video. These things need to show sex already.

Looking good, but could i ask you why you dont grow outside?
it would be cheaper if you are on a low budget.

Edit, just saw the fid it looks like its dying, did you over fertilize it?
you should take the dead leaves off so more energy goes to a better use.
Make sure to water them every couple days but i dont think it will die, they look like warriors, the might just make it. ;)

Good Luck,

Sorry Grizz, I was thinking if it was thin plastic, they could push through. And sorry MK for posting wrong info.

oh I didn't mean it all hating man, now I feel bad. Roots grow by piling cells up on top of the growing tip, its sorta like an expanding sponge. They can push through concrete because theres places for the cells to build up, plastic offers no such purchase.

Roots are really damned awesome, I keep meaning to write up a massive root thread but always lose motivation.

I see, unless theoretically the plastic had small tears in it, then they could make the hole expand, corect?

Yeah bro that's all I could come up with too, I just didn't realize that the difference in phenotypes would cause such a drastic difference in how the plants reacted.

They look great :)
Keep up the good work!
Thanks but, they've definitely looked better. Still hoping!

Thanks bro. It still amazes me to open the box up and see a tote full of green(and brown now). I may not have any buds but I sure know how to fill a rubbermaid, lol

Thanks, I don't grow outside because the state I live in isn't very tolerant of marijuana. I live in a very republican state on the uptight east coast. As I said on here, a lot, I believe my leaves are dying due to heat stress. I will however be removing the dead leaves when I get home from the lake.

Sorry Grizz, I was thinking if it was thin plastic, they could push through. And sorry MK for posting wrong info.
Hey brother no need to apologize. I NEED help bro and I know that you wouldn't post anything on here unless you thought it would help me. So if the info isn't 100% correct, as long as it doesn't kill my babies(lol), No harm no foul no need to apologize. I appreciate your and everyone elses help, so I'm not gonna be upset in the least if it doesn't pan out every time.

The bag should still be intact. Unless you think the fert could have "eaten away" at it a little. It wasn't like gardeners plastic, just an empty soil bag.

How long do you guys think I should let the dying male steal nutes and root room from the one that seems to have a chance. I was originally gonna let it go till it grew big balls or died but now I'm thinking my other plant might benefit if I kill that fucker. Any thoughts?

That's the only issue, since they aren't showing sex fully I'm afraid to kill anything. I only got the 2 plants and if I kill a female off on accident I'll be so pissed at myself. SO I guess I should just stickl with plan A and wait til he shows some serious balls before chopping him down huh.

Yeah, I would wait if you can...I still cant believe they havent sexed, that's fuckin crazy. I just finished harvesting my auto pollen and my females have buds like mad...I just don't get it!

Hey Bro,
Just wanted to stop by and say Hi-we had the conversation about Rastafari a few weeks back.......
Anyway, I just looked over the last few pages of your current grow and just wanted to leave my 2 cents. Bummer on the crazy heat....I heared it was getting brutal over there. The summer heat is definately a difficult thing to deal with....I know that I read that you have your lights on from 4pm to 4am....because that works with your schedule. If you can swing it I think that running them from like 7 or 8pm to 7 or 8am would help things a little. Winter growing is so much easier!:) As far as the plants being slow to flower....Did you say they were coming up on like 5 weeks?! If so, I think there is a light-leak. I know you have ruled that out but in my opinion that is your problem. The reason I say that is I have seen plants of mine in the past that were horribly sick and in hot rooms start flowering normally (slightly delayed..but still showing plenty of flowers by week 2-3..). I have also flowered pure Sativas that took 14 weeks to mature but were still showing sex by the 2-3 week for sure. On the other hand I do not think I have ever delt with the kind of heat that you are dealing with. What are the current day and night temps? I guess there is a definately a possibility that if the temps are crazy (like over 100) the plants might be so stunted they just wouldn't start flowering...but I have never seen it.
I hope maybe this helps and who knows maybe they have started blooming nicely in the last few days........
Like I said before, I do not consider myself a pro by any means but have pulled down enough harvests to feel pretty comfortable growing.
Hope all is well-
Bless

Also, it occured to me after my last post, that there could be a different cause for light-leaking. I have never had it happen, but I have heared of growers investigating their grow rooms for light-leaks after plants were not flowering properly and finding the culprit in small red ligths that were on the side of different electrical devices in the grow-room. For example; a timer that you may have set up inside your grow-tub may have tiny red light on the side of it that is on regardless of if the timer has the lights on or off (as long as the timer is plugged in the little red light is on). When you close up your room for the dark period.....the little red light is still on inside keeping the plants from flowering. Just something you shoud check....but I think it is a pretty rare problem.

Hey man thanks for stopping by! The heat was killer for a while there. It's settled down a little bit now. It's raining back home so today will only get to about 81 where the plants are growing and probably like 60 tonight. But where I live the temps can fluccuate from 70 something all the way to 105 and back again within a few days. We have a saying out here about it actually: If you don't like the weather in Pennsylvania, wait a minute. And man is it true. Right now where I am it's 72 and one minute its sunny-ish and the next it's cloudy and drizzling. The thing is my plants have never been in a stable temperatured environment. I'm do a sort of stealth grow so it has to be as low key as possible and right now the only place I can store it is in an attic that isn't insulated so if it's 101 outside it's 101 in there. I mean EVERYONE know's that's not ideal but shit these plants grow in jungles with temps of 100+ degrees and 89% humidity so my little attic grow should at least do something.
They've been flowering for a little over 3 weeks now not 5. If it comes to 5 weeks I'm gonna seriously be doing this :wall:. Maybe I have to consider the possibility of a light leak but I just DO NOT understand how it's possible. I don't know anymore I guess I gotta check it out when I get home. Anyway sorry for the rant I just smoked my morning dutch and I got a little toasty and went to town, lol. Guess I'll get out and enjoy this lake now!
:peace:
