what are your views on this?
Should the standard be be lowered to accommodate women or should they be held to the same standards as men?
Should there be another living quarters developed for women also?

No, standards should not be lowered to accommodate women. If the standards are already set in place for men, women should be able to meet that standard. Consider it, if the standard to carry out a fully equipped male soldier is X amount of pounds, any female soldier in the same position must be able to perform up to that standard, if they can't, people could die.

I don't think there should be another living quarters separate for women

If a woman can complete the training as it is now, then why should having tits be a problem?

If there's to truely be equality for women...shouldnt it be, you know, equal?

Our women are bigger than their men.

Ever hear of "rowdy" Rhonda Rousy?

Pretty sure she could kick the ass of any dude that reads this.

Ever hear of Bas Rutten? How about Wanderlie Silva? Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson?

If we're going to cherry pick, females STILL lose. Rhonda Rousy would get CRUSHED by the same weight male of similar skill. When females can compete with males in athletic events without having to have their OWN separate divisions, then I'll support arming them, but that's up to biology, NOT some pretentious notion of "equality".

EVERY female I ever met in service that worked close to line units was little more than a pet that needed protection from her MALE counterparts. Period.

This stupid fucking nation passes a g'damn "domestic violence act" to "PROTECT" women FROM men, and yet these same assholes want to put them on the front lines? They come up with a "No means no" anti-rape campaign because females can't defend themselves from males that want to fuck them without their consent, and people think females are suitable combatants to face the enemies of our nation? How fucking stupid are we?

Being FORCED to deal with all that bullshit is one of the reasons I got the fuck out of the military.

When females face males in violent confrontation, the outcome overwhelming looks something like this....

Our MALE troops deserve better than this bullshit.

But what about mental toughness and precision and attention to detail? I have known many woman that I would NEVER EVER EVER mess with because they do not quit, they do not rest, they do not forgive, they do not make any mistakes and they are mean beyond all measure. Many women, when they set their mind to a thing will do anything, accept any challenge, overcome any difficulty and bear any pain to accomplish what it was they set out to do. I have only met a few very deliberate men who had that sort of mental fortitude and direction.

Seems to me that is the essence of Navy seals, not the ability to lift weight (when everything becomes lighter all the time), or perform some sort of gymnastics.

And folks don't find that the ultimate in intimidation? hmmm? No, I think woman in any branch of the service would be an asset. I personally would much rather have them as bosses btw for any number of reasons.

I have had female bosses three times, and every one of them were excellent. I have had about eight male bosses over the year and two of them were not very likable. Not much of a data set to make a judgment.

I honestly think this will be a failed experiment. The Myers-Briggs test can identify those most suitable for direct combat roles; specifically those with a natural predisposition to kill. These tests are already integrated into the cadre courses, so I honestly don't think we will see too many women getting through.

I agree, but the one(s) that do will be some badass ladies.

I can understand the pride that one would get after making it through, but I just cant understand why women even want to be in that program. I guess they feel they have something to prove.

More than likely they will have a BUDS just for females, but as SirG says, they'll be some tough women.

I'm thinking the same thing. It was mentioned, and I think that will be what they do. It will still be in the same area but trained by someone other than who trains the males. I would think at least. Who knows, we will find out in 2 years.

Anyone agree with having your tax dollars go toward building the ladies a new facility to accommodate them while they attempt to pass BUD/s
