Really appreciate the help ... once I see green I'll make sure to ta key off the covers I left a tiny bit open in the side anyways just incase for airflow I'll make sure to check on my plant every morning when I wake up and every night before I sleep once I see that seed pop I'll remove it ... how much distance after should I keep the light from my small plant ?

Try sitting the container on an electric heating pad set on low.
Also how many times a day and when I'm the day should I water the soil? How many times a week too..

You only want to water your plant when the soil is dry. Pick up your container after watering to get an idea of how much it weighs wet and and when the container is very light and the soil is dry, you'll know when it needs watered. Only water when the plant needs it.

OMG, we've been watching reruns of Parks & Rec. I can't read Bushmaster's posts without hearing Ron saying the words.
d420, I feel badly for that poor seed. If it survives, treat it well. Never know, could end up being a kick-ass plant.
So, next time:
- Use lighter soil for seedlings
- If you start in a little cup or some other small container, be ready to move to a bigger container. You must be ready with the dirt you want, the pot, a place to put it, etc. Baby pot plants put much more effort into roots than leaves the first week. They'll blow right thru a small cup in days. If the first container has drain holes, use a paper towel in the bottom to keep the dirt in. That way if the roots get entangled in the paper towel you just slip the whole thing into the bigger pot. Minimal root damage. I made the mistake (once) of using a piece of landscape fabric in the bottom of a small pot. I broke lots of tender roots peeling the fabric off.
- Have a quiet, fairly warm spot ready for soaking the seedlings. Doesn't matter if it's dark or light. Some folks will set the seedlings over their computer modem or router if that's on 24/7. Don't block the device's vents! Use a wire rack or something similar and set the dish over the router with a few inches clearance. We usually set a plastic bag loosely over the dish with the towel & seed because the towel dries out too quickly otherwise.
- Be ready to get it out of the towel when the seed breaks. Very gently set it root down if possible in your starter soil. I don't use tweezers for fear of damaging the seed.
- I like to use room temperature water, not cold water right from the tap. Anything you can do to lessen shock is good.
- Minimal handling, minimal stress, keep planning ahead. It's easy to get jammed up because you weren't ready with the next step.
- They will get leggy really really fast unless they're moved under some fairly strong light quickly. Not 500W, just something to tell them plenty of photons are available and they don't have to reach.

if the seedling dries out its dead...so check it several times day...water as needed...I can't tell u exactly how much bc that depends on several factors....little seedling won't need much but if ur Rh is low you'll be watering more often...does that make any sense?

depends on how strong the light is...I use floros for seedlings and the panel is about a foot away from the seedlings...u can always start out farther away and get closer but the reverse could damage the leaf tissue so just be careful.

If that is ur seed and it just popped, that soil is to wet in my experience. Is lighting cfl? just curious? If you are move that as close as possible, it will help with stretching and such, as it gets a little bigger you might wanna add soil later, up to the seed pod to give the stem strength as it grows.When I first pop a seed its water is what in it till I see top of the soil dry, then I mist it at night before I go to sleep.

keep it on for the next 24hr of a couple of days, then scale back to an 18/6 timing. I currently have all mine inn a 12/12 like the sunlight, as it rises and falls but that's me, for you 18/6. Keep in mind that timing will shorted over time where it like it. It will show you one way or another, mine always does. Yes, only when top soil dries. If you pick it now, it should weigh heavy, as the soil drys it will get lighter and lighter. I always keep a spray bottle around and spray the plant with good water purified or otherwise, it cool the plant when its in its darkness phase.
do you think the cfl light is close enough from the seedling? It'd roughly about 10 cm away
