Need Help Sexing This Plant

This is my first time growing. I bought some seeds (not feminized) Maui Waui. I ended up with three plants. Pretty sure two are female but this one which is the biggest plant makes me wonder. I've had them under MH light and outdoor sunlight most of the time. I can't tell if its a male. If it is will the two female and the male flower if I leave them under MH and outdoor sunlight? If they will flower is there any way I can separate the male and how far does he have to be from the females. After they develop buds can I bring the male back or will he spoil the buds? In other words, if its a male should I separate (or destroy) now? How long can the females stay in the veg cycle? Is there a maximum amount of time?

I have to travel the month of November. I hate losing a third of the crop and such a healthy plant. Any help with this project will be greatly appreciated. This bud's for you rollitup. Thanks. :weed:

Males dont bud, pretty sure you have a male. If your growing maui waui you dont want to veg very long, things gonna stretch like hell when you flower it

I didn't see the balls but did see one horn near some of the nodes. On the females there was clearly two horns coming out from each node. I keep them under the MH from dusk till the sun breaks and then put them out in the sun. That's when I'm not giving them TLC, H2O, and Nutes. I have to leave the end of October and won't return till the middle or end of December. My wife will be here for November. I have a Tropf Blumat set and a 24 gallon rubbermaid plastic tub to water them when either me or the wife arn't here to water them. I've got three barely-healthy clones in soil from each of the three plants, one Black Russian (fem) seedling, and an AK Auto (fem) seedling too. I'm inclined to just leave them all in veg stage until I return in December. Would that work? That potential male is what worries me. Definitely not going to kill it - would rather take it outside and hide it near water.

So can the male bother the females after the females bud? Or does the pollen still affect the buds? Thanks - you online growers are the only support out there for lone newbies. Here are pictures closer to the nodes:

As if... im kinda wondering the same thing actually here ripe. My plants look really similar to yours and i just see a single horn. Not hairy for me to safely call female- probably just gonna switch into 12/12 personally because males tend to be more obvious to me than females

YESSSSS THEY WILL BOTHER THEM! LITERALLY MOLEST THEM, the male pollen will pollinate the females obviously causing seedy low quality buds to form.

Male plants don't bud? Since when? Pic's of male bud:cannabis-pictures-male.jpgmarijuna-male-plant-149x224.jpg

@ the OP I see no signs of balls so keep your fingers crossed. But you did mention that this is your biggest plant and it is my experience that the big ones will turn out male or hermi. Good luck with the other two. Btw if it turns out male kill it, it is not worth trying to grow it. You can veg a plant forever as long as you have them under 24/7 light. 60 days or a good foot high is the golden rule for vegging. Get rid of the male as soon as you confirm it is indeed male. , If you keep it it will pollinate the other two and you will end up with seedy buds(but only kill it when you know it is a male). You didn't mention how long you have been vegging them for, from what I see you should be switching over to 12/12 any day now. If you switch over it will force the sex of that plant or you can just separate it from the other two and sex it(thats what I would do). Good luck and btw nice healthy looking plant. Also if you sex it now by switching over to 12/12 you can go back to vegging it as soon as you confirm sex(there's a window).

Thanks for that sage advice and some direction now on how I might proceed with this grow. Everyone, thanks. I think I will force them to show their sex and then continue to later to veg them when I have to go on my trip.

looks male to me dude, and it can pollinate your plant whenever it opens its pollen sacks no matter how far along your females are. you only get viable seeds it gets pollinated at the right time and you let them ripen. you get less bud and seeds but it would still be smokable. its advised to remove it if you want seedless bud with more potency.

and yeh those are just a bunch of pollen sacks waiting to open. you would be dumb if you where smoking pollen sacks.

This is the difference between me (a newbie) and the guys/gals calling the plant a male (growers). I see pic 3 (second set) pollen sacks at nodes as new sets of leaves. I think in tomatoes they call them suckers and encourage you to pinch them off when they sprout at the node. I just turned the power off to the grow tent and the threesome are in the dark. I just hope the pollen sacks haven't done anything yet - hanky panky in the dark. I guess the healthy male will have to be moved to some other location. I don't get winter here. I guess he will continue to grow in the wild if he doesn't get eaten first.

If the clones in soil look crappy should I give them time to grow/die? I'm thinking of starting four clones off the big female plant in a water cloner, get roots, transplant into soil and let them grow with the Black Russian (fem), a real bear, and the AK Auto (fem), both fast growing seedlings. Thanks again. Online growers are like the nutes for newbies - keep up the great work!

Would really suck to get a knock on the door cuz someone sees you carrying it outside or stumbles on it in the woods buy your house. Chop it up

Jbone77, could make a salad out of it. God knows I've never cared about a plant more, lol. Just wish the females would grow with as much enthusiasm as this male. He is out on the hot patio with the other tropical plants (about 30) climbing toward the sun. If anything the local teenagers will steal him and think they have some "weed." I saw a post here about harvesting the pollen and then "painting" one bud with it to get seeds. I'd have to have a large piece of white paper to shake the pollen out. Then stick the pollen in an envelope and stick the envelope in the freezer. Hey, I'm just getting started. My three clones in soil look like crap. I'm about ready to start four in a water cloner and see how that goes. I've got to be on an airplane by the November 1. I think I could clone by then and have them growing in soil. Then put them all in the grow tent with a 600W MH dimmed to about 300W and let em grow a little more until I come back in December or early January. Hope that Tropf Blumat set works to give em H2O while I'm gone. I can't remember worrying so much about a project as I have over this one. Proabably safer to mail anything I want to take with me than to carry it in luggage.

male plants do bud. but its not the same as a female. males contain small amounts of thc. female when put under 12-12,with not males and not light for 12 hours will produce seedless bud. if you have males near them in the vicinity of them your going to have seeds and potentially ruin a good crop.
