Yep, I've got a crimson trace (red) on my original 1911 but I kept the Novac sights on my lightweight commander as I really like the checkering on the grips and the front of the mag housing. She will take a full size mag (8 rnds) but I carry the first in the pipe & factory 7 in the mag. Usually have a couple extra mags in my pocket.
I've only had to "use" her once & it's a one sided story.

I had night sights put on everything but Granddad's 1911. They're the lollipop style and with my bad eyes they are a blessing. Long guns have red dot Scopes for the shorter range and high magnification scopes for stuff that can reach out beyond 500 yards like the 6.8 SPC caliber AR platform.
Sorry I'm getting really far away from the food topic. Here's some yummy food porn to make up for it, mmm burgers.

Buy one get one free whole chickens this week! These just came off the smoker and are resting until dinner. Lump charcoal and a little fresh split hickory from my stash pile did most of the work. I just helped.

nice. i'm definitely a hickory fan on just about anything on the smoker.
