just 100% apple juice, a little dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, slowly reduced till it got nice and thick. that was what a quart of apple juice reduced to, next time i think i'll start off with a gallon and maybe get a quart, or close to it
tastes better than the shit you can buy for 8 dollars a pint at the local orchard...and i know whats in it

wonder if apple cider would give the same results? that stuff would be fire on some french toast i bet.

My biscuits and gravy didn't come out exactly like I wanted, the biscuits were fine but the gravy got too thick again. I think I need to practice it again today to get better at it. Actually I like a thicker gravy but it sounds really good on this cold morning. Have to motivate myself somehow...lol.
don't know why but sausage gravy gives me heartburn. even if i take a prilosec beforehand. that and green bell peppers.

It might depend on the sausage you're using. Much of the store bought sausage is just loaded with sodium and other things. That's why I make my own from pork I grind. I've known people that have issues with bell peppers. They can eat plenty of foods that cause others heartburn without a problem though. I also know people that don't eat cucumbers for the same reason.
