THE LIGHTS ARE ON SLIP KNOTS SO WE CAN RAISE AND LOWER TO THE FLOOR IF WE HAVE TO.THEY GO ALL THE WAY UP TO THE RACK AND DOWN TO THE FLOOR,AND I GOT A COUPLE MORE OF THE SIDE AND UNDERNEATH LIGHTS FOR IMPROVED GROWTH.RIGHT NOW I HAVE ALL 3 OF THE FOXFARMS NUTES BUT FOR THE HYDRO WERE GONNA USE CANNA,ADVANCED,OR JORGES LINE MABEY EVEN SOME HUMBOLDT NUTES.HAS ANY BODY EVER USED ANY OF THOSE I LISTED.STILL NEED IDEAS BOUT WHAT SETUP TO USE FOR MY MINI SoG IN HYDRO.TAKING THE NIGHT OFF TONIGHT GONNA RELAX AND PLAY SOM PS3 AND 360

Your setup is looking real good. I don't really have any advice, I don't know much about growing hydro at all. I'm just glad to see there is someone in this area who is actually growing some quality bud. Keep up the good work, and keep the pictures coming. +rep

Glad I stumbled onto this thread....
I usually just hang in the hydro section since changing to hydro.......I always used Fox Farm when I was in soil..everythhing from the ffof to the macro's..... Now in hydro and using canna in an AF20 and a dwc and a diy flood/drain table, and GH 3part(that came with the AF) in another dwc. I love the Canna! BUT< I can honestly say that from results so far I cant really tell a difference except the GH dwc is definately a much DEEPER green, but the Canna grown stuff is seeming to grow twice as fast.......and stalky stems!
Have you guys committed to a system yet? Maybe try a couple. DWC's are cheap to diy..... as are flood and drain set-up's.......and have you read any of StinkBud's diys on aero/NFTs?? He has some kick ass shit going on over there! And the whole thing is that you can build/make better quaity systems yourself and they're less than half the hydro shop's price........ But all-in-all, dwc is the cheapest to set up(your container, air pump w/stone, nutes, hydroton and net basket). SB's system is with 396 gph pumps($30), vinyl fence posts, some pvc + fittings, res., cycle timer($100)......etc. Flood and Drain diy you can build for under $40, minus the pump, hydroton, and the through wall fittings.
You can do any of these for very reasonable $$. The only thing you need at the hydro shop is hydroton and/or baskets and you may want to use there table fittings and over-flow.......
I have pics of all of these, as well as links to any diy's you might want/need if you dont find them....

I use a full line of advanced nutrients and they work very well but are expensive.
As for the setup, I would go with a flood and drain for the sea of green, you could stack quite a few plants under there.

OK SO WERE PROB GOING WITH A 4x4 FLOOD AND DRAIN TABLE FOR BOTH FLOWER AND VEG 10 IN A TRAY. WERE GOING TO DO 8 DWC's IN DIY RUBBERMAIDS (ie 4 IN EACH CONTAINER)AND AS FOR THE BONUS SOIL GROW IT WILL BE 10 OF THEM,AND THEY WILL LIVE THERE LIFES IN GROW BAGS! AND THE LAST 10 I STILL DONT KNOW YET. THE OTHER 2 WILL BE A SUPRISE FOR ALL TO SEE!!! THAT 40 PLANTS,WE WILL BE BUILDING 2 MORE OF THE CLONE MACHINES YOU SEEN IN THE PICS AND TAKE 50 to 60 CLONES AT A TIME!!! THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE!!!

IM A FIRM BELEIVER IN T5s I SOMETIMES USE A 400 HPS OR MH TO MAKE THEM GROW QUICKER BUT USUALLY JUST THEM AND MY OTHER FLUROS. HOW MANY PLANTS DO YOU THINK I CAN FIT IN THE 4x4 TRAY AND SHOULD I PUT THEM IN POTS OR STRAIGHT IN THE HYDROTON PELLETS I WAS REALLY REALLY HOPING FOR 20 IN THE TRAY? BUT LET ME KNOW HOW MANY YOU THINK WILL FIT IT THANKS FOR THE ADVICE REP+ TO YOU
if you are a taste guy you should def go with botanicare nutes. 6x6 pots with hydroton on a 4x4 table will fit about 40-45 square pots. thats only if your doing sea of green and will have to flower them at about 10 inches tall or so and add some bushmaster. or you could do about 20 plants and veg them about 18" tall.

Everything looks great man, a couple things I would do is box the window for an exhaust room, And run 2-4 1k lights on light rails instead of the 400w.
Or if your set on using something more efficient than 1000w, use at least 4 x 600w.
600w HPS are one of the most efficient at about 98000lumens with only 600w.
Lookin good tho man. I wish I had that much space....if I wasnt renting my grow room would be insane.

it actually the other way a round we rented for a long time always had to worry bout the landlords and stuff my brother bought a house so were straight now i been trying to sell the 4 400s and get 1000s and we got the sheet of ply wood to cover the window should i cut a little hole in it and run exhaust out the window is that what your saying
my buddy put black screen on the outside of his window. then he boarded it up with plywood. then he cut holes in the plywood for his ducting. you have to be right up to the window on the outside to see what's up, and then all you see it 2 big black holes.

Very nice. I would prefer a boxed window tho, bring the back panel out 6-8 inches, hang a curtain in the box, maybe a little light to flick on once in a while.

Maybe I'm not understanding exactly how you're exhausting, but a hot exhaust coming from a window will look like a giant fountain on FLIR. Very suspicious, especially in winter. I know "technically" they need a warrant to FLIR your house, but in our state even 1 plant is a felony. Better safe than sorry.

so my intake should come from the window ( do i use 2 intakes and 1 out ) and my exhaust out goes in the attic ( the outtake has the carbon scrubber,can filter etc watever on it right ) thanks for the help bro
the exhaust ha the fan, the intake is passive. you want to create a slight vacuum. if you have a door and you open it a few inches and let go you want it to suck closed. you have to setup your exhaust and intake to do this is. you want to exchange the air in the room at least 3 times a minute. or was it 2? i do 4.
