New flushing study

I came across this study about flushing and found it to be very informative and interesting so I thought I would share it for all those who are not flushing at the moment.

According to this trial I can save my money on nutes for the last 14 days of flower without any loss of final weight and taste. Only real difference is the color of the wax if you’re making extracts. The non flushing extracts will be lighter colored. So For all the non-flushers out there you should definitely reconsider your position on flushing unless your commercially making extracts or you just like light colored extracts.

I appreciate the info but I will still not be flushing. Cost of a couple weeks of nutes is negligible and even the study says:

CONCLUSION
In a first of its kind study, Rx Green Technologies evaluated the effects of flushing period on yield, potency, terpenes, mineral content, and taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Overall, the length of the flushing period did not impact yield, potency, terpenes, or taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Taste test results indicated a trend toward improved flavor and smoke quality with the zero-day flush. While there were no significant differences in nutrient content, there was a trend toward increased iron and zinc in flower flushed for 14 days. The results of this trial indicate that there is no benefit to flushing Cannabis flower for improved taste or consumer experience.

Yes..... I will stop flushing to save $1.50 on nutes.

Totally worth it to starve my plants in the final days.

Great advise.

I’m new here trying to learn. Just like everyone else went through. I found something that I thought was interesting and could be helpful. No need to be dicks.
You are on a pot board brother, you need to expect some humor. Many here are stoned. I too find the whole flushing thing interesting and also find it to be nonescence but that is my opinion. Trust me, nobody here is being a dick to you, it would be very clear if they were. Most new folk start with the idea of flushing, there are many studies, most by nute companies who sell you products to flush. I don't trust those with a vested interest in making profits off of what they are trying to convince me of. If you truly wish to learn than that is a good thing, click the search up in the top right corner and type flush. 10 pages of threads will appear giving you days of reading and links to months of reading. Another piece of friendly advice is don't throw around words like "dicks" as that is a sure fire way to get people acting like dicks towards you. Many great people here that are willing to help, don't ostracize any of them, you won't be doing yourself any favors. Have fun with your research, there are some interesting threads there. Welcome to RIU.

Here’s a little story about flushing. Years ago I had a job working at the plant pathology department at Rutgers University. One of the botanist professors was a hippie type dude, and got to know him. Turns out he grew cannabis. I had always been told to flush, and had been doing it in my grows. When I told him this he laughed, and said “that’s an old hippie myth, plants don’t work that way. If u want to see proof, take any type of plant and water it with water colored with food dye. The plant will take on the color of the dye. Then u can flush that plant with all the water in Lake Michigan, u can’t flush that color out. Once it’s in there, it stays”. Now this guy was a PhD. I still follow his advice.

Il be straight with you. @Doug Dawson is correct. I am high as fuck and like to joke around.

With a thread title like "Start Flushing Again. New study"......

Maybe the way you posed the situation as giving advise to do it instead of a stance of trying to learn is the reason you are getting so much kick back.

Just a thought.
